JOB DESCRIPTION – STORE MANAGER

Position: Store Manager – Sweet Shop

Location: Delhi

Department: Retail Operations

Reporting To: Management / Director

Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced and responsible Store Manager to manage the day-to-day operations of our sweet shop. The Store Manager will be responsible for staff management, customer handling, billing, stock & inventory management, cash handling, sales monitoring, and ensuring smooth functioning of the store.

The person should be proactive, disciplined, customer-friendly and capable of independently managing the outlet.

Key Responsibilities

1. Staff Management

• Manage and supervise all store staff on a daily basis.
• Allocate duties and shifts to staff.
• Monitor attendance, punctuality, grooming and discipline.
• Ensure staff follows proper customer-service and store procedures.
• Handle day-to-day staff issues and coordinate with management when required.

2. Customer Handling

• Ensure excellent customer service and customer satisfaction.
• Personally handle important customers and customer complaints.
• Assist customers with product selection, pricing and orders.
• Ensure proper packing and timely delivery/dispatch of orders.

3. Billing & Counter Management

• Supervise daily billing and counter operations.
• Ensure all sales are properly billed and recorded.
• Check discounts, cancellations, returns and complimentary items.
• Ensure there are no billing or cash discrepancies.

4. Cash Management

• Handle and monitor daily cash collection.
• Maintain proper records of cash, UPI, card and other payment collections.
• Verify the closing cash and payment settlements at the end of the day.
• Report any discrepancy immediately to management.

5. Stock & Inventory Management

• Monitor daily stock of sweets, dry fruits, ingredients, packaging material and other store items.
• Ensure proper inward and outward stock entries.
• Monitor wastage, expiry and damaged/unsold products.
• Maintain appropriate stock levels and inform management about items that need to be purchased/replenished.
• Conduct regular physical stock checks and reconcile them with records.

6. Sales & Daily Reporting

• Monitor daily sales and store performance.
• Prepare and submit an end-of-day sales and cash report to management.
• Report:
• Total sales
• Cash collection
• UPI/Card collection
• Online/order sales
• Expenses, if any
• Discounts/refunds
• Stock/wastage issues
• Pending orders
• Any cash or billing discrepancy
• Maintain daily records accurately.

7. Day-to-Day Store Operations

• Ensure the store opens and closes on time.
• Ensure cleanliness, hygiene, presentation and overall appearance of the store.
• Ensure products are properly displayed and priced.
• Coordinate with the kitchen/production team for availability of products.
• Coordinate with delivery staff for timely dispatch of orders.
• Ensure the store operates smoothly even during rush hours, weekends and festivals.

Required Skills & Qualities

• Minimum 2–5 years of experience in retail, restaurant, sweets, food or FMCG business preferred.
• Good communication and customer-handling skills.
• Strong knowledge of billing and cash handling.
• Basic computer knowledge.
• Ability to maintain stock and inventory records.
• Good leadership and staff-management skills.
• Honest, responsible and trustworthy.
• Ability to work under pressure during festivals and peak hours.
• Should be comfortable taking independent responsibility for the store.

Key Performance Indicators (KPI)

The Store Manager will be evaluated on:

• Daily sales performance
• Accuracy of cash and billing
• Stock accuracy
• Minimum wastage and product loss
• Customer satisfaction
• Staff discipline and productivity
• Timely completion of daily reports
• Smooth day-to-day functioning of the store

Important Requirement

The Store Manager will be responsible for the overall smooth functioning of the store during their shift and must immediately report any major operational, financial, staff or customer-related issue to management.
