X-RAY RADIOGRAPHER

Core Responsibilities

• Patient Preparation: Verify patient identity, review physician orders, explain procedures, and position patients properly for clear images.
• Equipment Operation: Set up, calibrate, and operate X-ray consoles and digital imaging hardware while managing exposure settings (kVp, mAs, and collimation).
• Radiation Safety: Apply lead aprons, shields, and dosimeters to protect patients and staff from unnecessary radiation.
• Image Quality Control: Review and evaluate radiographic images for diagnostic clarity before submitting them to radiologists.
• Record Keeping: Document patient details, log procedures into Radiology Information Systems (RIS/PACS), and maintain examination archives.
• Equipment Maintenance: Perform routine machine checks, report malfunctions, and keep exam rooms clean and sanitized.
• Clinical Skills: Strong knowledge of human anatomy, positioning techniques, infection control, and radiation protection standards.
• Soft Skills: Clear verbal communication, empathy for anxious patients, physical stamina for positioning mobility-impaired individuals, and attention to detail.
