Lead Tax Analyst (Direct Tax- India/UK)

We are looking for a Lead Tax Analyst who will be responsible for direct tax activities for all group entities (in particular India and UK) including tax compliance, US GAAP and IFRS tax reporting, audits, correspondence with Tax Authorities, transfer pricing, withholding tax, repatriation and all other tax aspects as needed ensuring compliance based upon sound research, analysis and interpretation of tax laws and tax reporting guidance under IFRS and US GAAP. This person will have the opportunity to develop in a brand-new group to ensure long-term optimization of tax strategies in collaboration with the global tax group and business units.

This is a new role and has the opportunity for the successful candidate to develop it with their skill set.

 

 

 About You – experience, education, skills, and accomplishments

• University Degree
• Minimum of 4 years of experience working in tax required
• Big 4 experience preferred with practical knowledge of preparing corporate tax returns
• Strong communication skills required
• Solid Word, Excel, PowerPoint, spreadsheet and computer knowledge, experience of NetSuite would be helpful.

What will you be doing in this role?

• Responsible for the completion of tax returns in approx. 10 countries and work to include all related analysis, research memos and support.
• Serve as subject matter expert on tax research projects ensuring tax filing positions are supported by sound research.
• Manage TDS and other withholding tax positions including ensuring the relevant treaty clearance requirements are in place.
• Assist the wider Tax Group with identifying, researching and implementing tax savings strategies.
• Responsible for the completion of tax reporting matters including preparation and oversight of the tax expense, deferred taxes, valuation allowances and contingency reserves.
• Identify and prepare the R&D tax credit opportunities and claims.
• Provide support on the integration of acquisitions.
• Provide direction and management to outside advisors working on tax projects..
• Understanding compliance guidelines with US GAAP and IFRS regulations.
• Identify implement and maintain process improvements.
