Job Description
Responsibilities
1. Network Monitoring
- Continuously monitor servers, routers, switches, and applications using tools like Nagios, Zabbix, or SolarWinds
- Identify outages or performance issues in real time
2. Incident Management
- Detect, log, and respond to network incidents
- Perform initial troubleshooting and escalate complex issues to higher-level engineers
3. Troubleshooting & Support
- Diagnose problems related to connectivity, hardware, or software
- Work with ISPs, vendors, or internal teams to resolve issues quickly
4. System Maintenance
- Apply patches, updates, and upgrades to network devices and systems
- Perform routine health checks and preventive maintenance
5. Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain logs of incidents, resolutions, and system performance
- Generate reports on uptime, downtime, and SLAs (Service Level Agreements)
6. Security Monitoring
- Monitor for unusual traffic or potential security threats
- Coordinate with cybersecurity teams when needed
