Academic Counsellor

We are looking for a motivated, confident, and student-oriented Academic Counsellor to guide prospective students in selecting suitable courses and academic programs. The candidate will be responsible for counselling students, explaining course details, managing admission enquiries, and supporting students throughout the admission process.

Key Roles and Responsibilities

Student Counselling

·       Counsel students and parents regarding available courses, eligibility criteria, career opportunities, and academic pathways.

·       Understand students’ interests, educational backgrounds, and career goals.

·       Recommend suitable courses and programs based on individual requirements.

Admission and Enquiry Management

·       Handle enquiries received through telephone calls, walk-ins, emails, and digital platforms.

·       Explain course curriculum, fees, duration, eligibility, and admission procedures.

·       Follow up with prospective students to convert enquiries into admissions.

·       Maintain accurate records of enquiries, counselling sessions, and admission status.

Sales and Admission Targets

·       Achieve assigned counselling and admission targets.

·       Conduct follow-up calls and maintain an active student enquiry pipeline.

·       Support promotional activities, seminars, educational events, and admission campaigns.

Required Skills and Qualifications

·       Graduate in any discipline; a degree in Education, Psychology, Management, or a related field is preferred.

·       Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

·       Strong interpersonal, listening, and counselling abilities.

·       Good convincing, presentation, and relationship-building skills.

·       Basic computer knowledge, including MS Office, email, and CRM tools.

·       Ability to handle multiple enquiries and work towards targets.

·       Positive attitude, patience, confidence, and a student-focused approach.

Preferred Experience

·       Experience in academic counselling, educational sales, admissions, or student support will be an advantage.

·       Freshers with good communication skills and a willingness to learn may also apply.
