Job Summary

This position collaborates with business stakeholders, product owners, developers, solution engineers, and Agile teams to validate Guidewire solutions supporting Business Insurance transformation initiatives. The role performs functional, integration, API, regression, and coordinates user acceptance testing activities to ensure Guidewire applications meet business requirements, quality standards, and release objectives. The position contributes to test strategy creation, test plans and test case creation and execution, defect management, and quality improvements while delivering sprint commitments within an Agile environment.

Essential Job Functions

Creates, maintains, and executes test cases, test scenarios, and test data for Guidewire solutions and integrations.

Validates functional, integration, regression, and end-to-end business processes across Guidewire applications.

Identifies, documents, retests, and tracks defects through resolution.

Reviews user stories and acceptance criteria to ensure testability and quality coverage.

Participates in sprint testing activities and supports release validation efforts.

Creates test automation scripts using tools like Playwright and maintains regression suite.

Performs API and interface testing using approved testing tools.

Collaborates with developers, product owners, solution engineers and business analysts to troubleshoot issues and validate fixes.

Contributes to automated regression suite development and maintenance.

Leads or engages in environment validation, test data preparation, and deployment verification activities.

Produces periodic QA reports and test event-specific status updates, supported by relevant data, while proactively identifying and communicating risks & dependencies.

Produces test evidence and quality metrics to support release readiness.

Hands-on test execution for all types of testing needs, execute on test events, analyze defect trends, contribute to root cause analysis and produce status reports.

Provides testing guidance, knowledge sharing, and mentoring to junior team members when needed.

Requirements

Special Skill Requirements

Minimum 8 years of QA experience in Agile software delivery environments.

Minimum 3 years of Guidewire testing experience, mainly Guidewire PolicyCenter.

Experience with test management and defect tracking tools (Rally)

Experience with test automation tools (Playwright)

Experience with API testing and integrations validation.

Experience leading testing efforts across large transformation initiatives.

Strong understanding of Business Insurance products, workflows, underwriting, policy administration, and integrations.

Experience with automation frameworks, API testing, and CI/CD practices.

Experience coordinating UAT, internal and external teams on integrations and end-to-end testing, and release testing activities.

Strong analytical, problem-solving, verbal, and written communication skills.

Strong attention to detail and commitment to product quality

Additional Qualifications

Broad knowledge of insurance concepts, terminology, products, policy admin system and business processes

Strong verbal, written, and listening skills, with the ability to adapt technical messages for business and technical audiences as appropriate.

Excellent collaboration and team-building skills, with the ability to influence and work effectively across teams.

Strong ownership and accountability for individual and team deliverables, including timely identification and correction of gaps.

Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment

Agile Delivery and Collaboration

Participates in PI Planning, Sprint Planning, backlog refinement, daily stand-ups, system demos, retrospectives, and Inspect and Adapt activities.

Proactively identifies dependencies for test events execution, communicates and collaborates with cross functional teams

Partners with Product Owners and developers to ensure acceptance criteria are testable and complete.

Commits to sprint goals and proactively communicates risks, blockers, and testing status.

Supports continuous testing and continuous delivery practices.

Contributes to team quality improvement initiatives and knowledge sharing.

Collaborate effectively across production owners, business analysts and agile teams, identify risks and mitigation plans as appropriate.

Education and Certification Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent required.

Bachelor's degree in information systems, computer science, engineering, or related field preferred.

Guidewire testing certification required
