HR Manager

Key responsibilities

• Recruitment: Plan manpower, source and interview candidates for plant, engineering, quality and office roles. Handle job postings, walk-ins, agencies and campus hiring.
• Onboarding: Manage joining formalities, induction, documentation and probation reviews.
• Payroll and attendance: Oversee attendance, leave, overtime and monthly salary processing with accounts. Maintain employee records.
• Statutory compliance: Ensure compliance with the Factories Act, PF, ESIC, Minimum Wages, Bonus, Gratuity, Contract Labour and professional tax rules. Handle registers, returns and labour inspections.
• Employee relations: Keep discipline, resolve grievances, maintain a positive workplace and deal with the workforce, contractors and supervisors.
• Performance and training: Run appraisals, set KRAs and plan skill training for operators and engineers. Help meet the training and competence requirements of IATF 16949, ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001.
• Safety and welfare: Support EHS activities, safety training, canteen, transport and other welfare matters.
• HR policies and MIS: Prepare HR policies, SOPs and MIS reports (headcount, attrition, absenteeism and manpower cost).
• Customer audits: Provide HR records and compliance evidence during customer and certification audits.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of Indian labour laws and statutory compliance
• Experience handling plant or shop-floor workforce, contractors and union or labour issues
• Good communication, negotiation and people-management skills
• Proficiency in MS Excel and an HR/payroll system or ERP
• Fluent in Gujarati, Hindi and English
• Organised, confidential and able to take decisions
