Social Media Manager

We’re looking for a Social Media Manager to join our team.

Zhagaram is a Tamil children’s book startup focused on creating original, joyful, and meaningful books for young readers. We’re a small, growing team, which means this role goes beyond simply posting on social media - you’ll play an important part in shaping how our books and our brand are seen and discovered.

You’ll work closely with our creative and publishing team to turn our books, characters, stories, and ideas into engaging content for parents, children, educators, and book lovers.

Your responsibilities would include:

• Planning and managing Zhagaram’s social media presence across platforms
• Coming up with creative content ideas based on our books, characters, stories, and publishing process
• Creating and coordinating posts, reels, stories, and other social media content
• Writing engaging captions and copy in Tamil and English
• Working with illustrators and the internal team to develop visual content
• Managing the social media content calendar and ensuring regular posting
• Keeping up with social media trends and finding ways to adapt them to a children’s publishing brand
• Engaging with our audience, responding to comments and messages, and building a community around Zhagaram
• Tracking content performance and using insights to improve what we create
• Helping promote new book launches, campaigns, events, and other Zhagaram initiatives

You don’t need to have worked in publishing before. What matters more to us is creative thinking, good communication, and a genuine understanding of what makes content interesting.
