Job Description
Position Summary
The Plant Manager holds overall responsibility for the entire Modular Operation Theatre manufacturing plant, owning performance across every department Production, Quality (QA/QC), Procurement & Stores & Design & Engineering. The role sets plant-level targets, ensures cross-department coordination, and is accountable to company leadership for on-time delivery, quality, cost, compliance and people outcomes across the site. The Plant Manager works through the Production Manager (production execution), QA/QC Inspector/Engineer (quality), Procurement/Store Manager (materials), & Designer (production/installation drawings) acting as the single point of accountability for the plant.
Key Responsibilities
Overall Plant Leadership
• Own the plant's overall performance production output, quality, cost, delivery and safety against company targets.
• Reduction in operating costs by increasing production efficiency and supply chain management.
• Set plant-level goals and cascade them into department-wise targets for the Production Manager, QA/QC, Procurement, Design functions.
• Chair regular cross-departmental review meetings to track progress, resolve bottlenecks and align priorities.
• Act as the primary escalation point for issues that cut across departments (e.g., delivery risk from material delay, design-to-production mismatches, quality holds affecting dispatch).
Production & Operations Oversight
• Review production plans, capacity utilization and on-time delivery performance with the Production Manager.
• Approve manpower, machine and shift plans for the plant; sanction major maintenance/capex needs.
• Drive overall plant productivity, overall equipment effectiveness (OEE) improvement and cost-reduction initiatives.
Quality Ownership
• Hold ultimate accountability for plant-wide quality performance, audit readiness (ISO 9001, cleanroom classification) and customer quality complaints.
• Review NCR/CAPA trends with the QA/QC Inspector/Engineer and ensure systemic issues are resolved, not just symptoms.
Procurement, Design & Project Coordination
• Oversee procurement performance vendor reliability, cost savings and material availability with the Procurement/Store Manager.
• Ensure design-to-production-to-installation flow is seamless by reviewing drawing turnaround and site-fit issues with the Designer.
• Personally engage on major/escalated customer projects to ensure design approval, production and installation timelines are met.
Strategic & External Coordination
• Represent the plant to company leadership, customers, auditors and regulatory bodies as required.
• Drive continuous improvement (Lean/5S/Kaizen) and capacity/capability expansion planning for the plant.
• Build and mentor the department-head team for succession and capability growth.

• Maintain effective, regular review cadence across all departments.
4. Cost & Resource Management
• Control overall plant operating costs within budget.
• Ensure optimal utilization of manpower, machines and materials across departments.
5. People & Statutory Compliance
• Zero major statutory non-compliance across labour, tax, and quality regulations.
• Maintain healthy attrition and employee relations metrics across the plant.
6. Safety
• Zero reportable safety incidents across the plant.
• 100% compliance in safety audits.

Candidate Requirements
Education
• B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical, Industrial, Electrical or Production Engineering. MBA in Operations is a strong advantage.
Experience
• 7–10 years in manufacturing operations, including at least 3–5 years in a plant-head/plant-manager or equivalent multi-department leadership role.
• Experience managing production, quality, procurement and support functions together in a single plant is strongly preferred.
• Experience in modular OT, cleanroom, prefab panel or other regulated/technical manufacturing is a strong plus.
Knowledge & Skills
• Strong understanding of manufacturing operations, quality systems (ISO 9001, cleanroom/ISO 14644), and supply chain fundamentals.
• Ability to read P&L/cost data and manage a plant budget.
• Proficiency with ERP/MIS systems for plant-wide performance tracking.
• Strong project management skills, particularly for coordinating design-to-installation timelines on customer projects.
