Key Responsibilities

  • Own, maintain, prioritize, and continuously refine the product backlog in alignment with product strategy, customer needs, business priorities, and roadmap commitments.
  • Partner with the Product Manager to define product vision, strategic objectives, roadmap themes, market opportunities, and success measures.
  • Collaborate closely with Engineering, QA, UX, Data, Architecture, and Operations teams to groom features, clarify requirements, resolve dependencies, and support timely delivery.

  • Lead backlog refinement, sprint planning, story elaboration, sprint reviews, product demonstrations, and stakeholder feedback sessions.
  • Ensure user stories are ready for development by defining functional behavior, data attributes, validation rules, exception handling, dependencies, and testable acceptance criteria.
  • Make day-to-day prioritization decisions by balancing customer value, market needs, regulatory requirements, operational risk, technical dependencies, delivery capacity, and time-to-market considerations.
  • Serve as the primary business and functional point of contact for the Scrum team, providing timely clarification and decisions throughout the development lifecycle.
  • Partner with stakeholders to validate delivered functionality, incorporate feedback, and confirm release readiness.
  • Identify and manage product, data, process, and dependency risks; drive appropriate resolution and escalation.
  • Support release planning, stakeholder communications, product documentation, training, and change-management activities.
  • Define and monitor product success measures, including adoption, data quality, user satisfaction, delivery predictability, operational efficiency, and realized business value.
  • Champion continuous improvement in product discovery, backlog quality, Agile practices, delivery processes, and stakeholder collaboration.

Required Qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience as a Product Owner, Business Analyst, Product Manager, or similar role supporting financial technology, market data, investment-management, or enterprise financial products.
  • Prior experience in the financial technology sector, with a strong understanding of financial-services workflows, data usage, and client needs.
  • Strong domain knowledge of financial markets, investment products, and reference data, including instrument, issuer, entity, pricing, corporate actions, classifications, identifiers, symbology, and security hierarchies.
  • Working knowledge of financial data from major industry vendors, including Bloomberg, LSEG Data & Analytics (formerly Refinitiv), S&P Global Market Intelligence/Markit, FactSet, and ICE Data Services.
  • Strong understanding of multiple asset classes, including Equities, Fixed Income, listed and over-the-counter Derivatives, Credit Default Swaps, Credit Indices, Total Return Swaps, and other investment products.
  • Knowledge of reference-data sourcing, vendor data mapping, normalization, enrichment, data lineage, reconciliation, golden-source practices, and data-quality controls.
  • Ability to understand financial instrument lifecycles and the downstream impact of data changes across trading, risk, operations, reporting, compliance, and client-facing workflows.
  • Demonstrated experience working in Agile delivery environments, including Scrum ceremonies, backlog refinement, sprint planning, sprint reviews, retrospectives, and release planning.
  • Hands-on experience using Jira to create and manage epics, features, user stories, defects, workflows, dashboards, reports, and product backlogs.
  • Ability to write clear, concise, and unambiguous user stories with detailed, testable acceptance criteria.
  • Experience collaborating with technical teams and working knowledge of software-delivery concepts, including APIs, data integrations, system dependencies, testing, and production releases.
  • Excellent stakeholder-management, communication, facilitation, analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to manage ambiguity, build alignment across cross-functional stakeholders, and maintain focus on delivering measurable customer and business value.
