Job Description
Job Summary:
The OPD Coordinator / Receptionist is responsible for managing front desk operations, ensuring smooth patient flow in the outpatient department, coordinating with medical staff, and providing excellent patient service. This role also involves handling appointments, maintaining records, and ensuring a positive experience for patients and visitors.
Key Responsibilities:
Reception & Patient Handling:
- Greet and assist patients, visitors, and attendants professionally.
- Manage patient registration, appointment scheduling, and billing inquiries.
- Guide patients to the appropriate department and provide relevant information.
- Address patient concerns and escalate issues when required.
OPD Coordination:
- Ensure a smooth patient flow by coordinating with doctors, nurses, and support staff.
- Monitor appointment schedules and minimize wait times.
- Maintain OPD records and documentation accurately.
- Ensure proper implementation of hospital policies and procedures.
Administrative & Operational Support:
- Answer phone calls and respond to patient queries professionally.
- Maintain and update hospital management software with patient information.
- Assist in organizing OPD workflow to enhance operational efficiency.
- Ensure a clean and organized front desk and OPD waiting area.
Compliance & Quality Assurance:
- Ensure adherence to hospital policies, safety guidelines, and regulatory requirements.
- Handle confidential patient information with discretion and maintain data security.
- Assist in collecting patient feedback for service improvement.
