Job Description
- Key ResponsibilitiesCarry out fabrication and modification work for plant equipment, structures and engineering installations.
- Fabricate equipment supports, pipe racks, platforms, ladders, handrails, walkways and structural components.
- Perform fabrication of MS, SS and other suitable materials as per approved specifications.
- Read and interpret basic engineering drawings, fabrication drawings and measurements.
- Carry out cutting, grinding, drilling, bending and fitting activities.
- Perform alignment and dimensional checks before final installation.
- Work closely with welders, fitters and Engineering Supervisors during fabrication activities.
- Assist in fabrication and installation of process and utility piping supports.
- Carry out modification work during plant shutdown and maintenance activities.
- Assist in installation, dismantling and relocation of engineering equipment.
- Ensure fabricated structures and supports are properly aligned, levelled and securely installed.
- Use appropriate hand tools, power tools and fabrication equipment safely.
- Maintain fabrication tools and equipment in good working condition.
- Support maintenance teams during breakdown and preventive maintenance activities.
- Ensure fabricated components are free from sharp edges, burrs and other safety hazards.
- Maintain proper housekeeping around the fabrication area.
- Ensure that work does not adversely affect product quality or GMP-controlled areas.
- Follow all applicable Permit-to-Work, Hot Work, LOTO and EHS procedures.
