About AstraZeneca

AstraZeneca is a global, science-led, patient-focused biopharmaceutical company that focuses on the discovery, development and commercialization of prescription medicines for some of the world’s most serious diseases. But we’re more than one of the world’s leading pharmaceutical companies.

Introduction to role:

Are you ready to turn marketing automation into measurable impact for patients and company outcomes? In the position of Campaign Operations Analyst located in Chennai, you will be responsible for managing multi-channel campaigns using the Salesforce Marketing Cloud platform and Adobe Campaign. These campaigns help our medicines and programs reach the people who need them most. Your work will translate strategy into timely, relevant, and compliant communications that support brand objectives and patient outcomes.

You will join a collaborative, fast-moving team that brings marketers, data specialists, and technologists together to deliver at scale. Can you see yourself translating sophisticated requirements into detailed, multi-channel journeys at pace? Here, your expertise in building, testing, and optimizing campaigns will drive outcomes that matter—speed to market, engagement quality, and operational excellence.

Accountabilities:

  • Campaign Build and Execution: Configure, build, test, and deliver emails, journeys, Cloud Pages, SMS, push notifications, and workflows across Adobe Campaign and the marketing cloud environment provided by Salesforce to meet defined business goals.
  • End-to-End Delivery Ownership: Own campaigns from requirements capturing through QA, deployment, monitoring, and post-launch validation, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and impact.
  • Collaborate with IT and data teams to enable clean, reliable data flows and integrations from multiple sources. Apply schemas, supplementary data structures, and governance principles to ensure audiences remain accurate and compliant.
  • Personalization and Targeting: Implement segmentation, multifaceted content, tailored strategies, classification systems, and targeting logic that increase relevance and performance across channels.
  • Quality, Compliance, and Governance: Follow SOPs, SLAs, change control, and access standards; uphold privacy, consent, suppression, and preference management to protect customers and the business.
  • Fix and Continuous Improvement: Diagnose and resolve workflow, delivery, journey, automation, and data issues; escalate appropriately and foster insights into platform and process improvements.
  • Collaborator Partnership: Translate requirements from business partners into robust technical solutions; communicate progress, risks, and trade-offs clearly to diverse collaborators across regions.
  • Reusable Assets and Scalability: Build and maintain templates, workflows, automations, and standard configurations that improve consistency, speed, and scale across markets.
  • Measurement and Optimization: Supervise campaign health and delivery; validate audiences and outcomes, and recommend enhancements that boost efficiency, data quality, and engagement over time.

Crucial Skills/Experience:

  • 4-6 years of overall experience in marketing automation with SFMC, covering modules such as Email Studio and Journey Builder, Interaction Studio, Einstein, Automation Studio, and Adobe Campaign.
  • Hands-on experience with Adobe Campaign and/or the Salesforce digital marketing platform in a campaign operations or marketing automation environment.
  • Practical knowledge of Adobe Campaign workflows, deliveries, targeting, segmentation, personalization, typologies, and schemas.
  • Knowledge of SFMC capabilities including Email Studio, Journey Builder, Automation Studio, CloudPages, Data Extensions, and audience segmentation.
  • Solid understanding of SQL; exposure to AMPscript, JavaScript, HTML/CSS, JSON, SOQL, APIs, and platform integrations is advantageous.
  • Good understanding of campaign lifecycle management, data quality, audience segmentation, personalization, QA, and deployment processes.
  • Understanding of data security, permission, blocking procedures, preference management, and access-control principles within marketing platforms.
  • Strong analytical, solve, communication, and collaborator collaboration skills.
  • Ability to work within established SOPs, SLAs, QA, change-management, and production deployment processes.
  • Experience managing multiple campaign work in a fast-paced campaign operations environment while maintaining quality and timelines.

Desirable Skills/Experience:

  • Certifications in Marketing Cloud by Salesforce and/or Adobe Campaign.
  • Sophisticated AMPscript and SSJS for personalization, CloudPages, and integrations.
  • Experience with real-time and batch integrations using APIs, connectors, and event-based architectures.
  • Knowledge of deliverability best practices, tracking, and testing tools across email and mobile channels.
  • Familiarity with Agile delivery, backlog management, and version control for campaign assets.
  • Experience in regulated industries and with regional data privacy requirements.
