Job Description – Industrial Electrical Wiring & Commissioning Technician

Department: Production – Electrical

Location: Thirumazhisai, Chennai

Qualification: ITI / Diploma in Electrical & Electronics Engineering (EEE)

About the Role

We are looking for a hands-on Electrical Wiring & Commissioning Technician with experience in industrial machinery, HVAC, refrigeration systems, or OEM equipment manufacturing. The role involves electrical assembly, heavy-duty machine wiring, Control Panel Wiring, control panel integration, testing, troubleshooting, and customer site commissioning.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform heavy-duty electrical wiring for industrial HVAC and refrigeration equipment.
• Assemble and wire electrical control panels as per approved electrical drawings.
• Carry out power and control wiring, cable routing, cable glanding, ferruling, labeling, and termination.
• Install and wire compressors, blower motors, condenser fans, evaporators, VFDs, MCCBs, MPCBs, contactors, relays, overload relays, SMPS, sensors, pressure switches, temperature sensors, and solenoid valves.
• Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, GA drawings, and panel layouts.
• Perform continuity checks, insulation resistance testing, phase sequence verification, and functional testing.
• Troubleshoot electrical faults during assembly, testing, and commissioning.
• Support PLC I/O wiring and field device integration.
• Assist in machine installation, testing, commissioning, and service activities at customer sites across India.
• Ensure wiring quality, proper cable management, and compliance with company standards and electrical safety practices.
• Coordinate with Production, Design, and Service teams to complete projects within committed timelines.
• Maintain documentation of electrical changes, testing reports, and commissioning records.

Qualification & Experience

• ITI / Diploma in Electrical or Electronics Engineering.
• 3–5 years of experience in industrial machine wiring, HVAC, refrigeration equipment, OEM manufacturing, or control panel assembly.
• Ability to independently read electrical drawings and complete machine wiring.
• Experience with electrical testing instruments such as multimeter, clamp meter, insulation tester (Megger), and phase sequence meter.
• Willingness to travel for customer site installation and commissioning.
