Chip-Level Hardware Repair Technician

About the Role*

We are looking for a technician with practical experience in component-level diagnosis and repair of electronic circuit boards. The candidate will repair circuit boards and assist with servicing audio-video equipment.

*Roles & Responsibilities*

- Diagnose and repair faults in motherboards, power supply boards, and other electronic PCBs.

- Identify faulty components, including capacitors, diodes, MOSFETs, voltage regulators, and ICs.

- Perform SMD component soldering, desoldering, and replacement using soldering and hot-air rework stations.

- Troubleshoot short circuits, power failures, charging faults, and no-display issues.

- Use a multimeter, bench DC power supply, and other diagnostic tools.

- Read circuit diagrams and board schematics where available.

- Assist with diagnosis and repair of display, audio amplifier, camera, and other AV equipment boards.

- Test repaired equipment for functionality and stability before handover.

- Maintain repair records, spare-component inventory, and service reports.

- Follow ESD precautions and safe handling practices.

*Required Skills & Qualifications*

- ITI or diploma in Electronics, or equivalent practical repair experience.

- At least 1–2 years of hands-on chip-level or component-level repair experience.

- Good understanding of electronic components, PCB circuits, and power supply sections.

- Practical experience with SMD soldering and PCB rework.

- Basic knowledge of computer hardware; networking and audio-video knowledge will be an advantage.
