Job Title: Electrical Engineer – Control Panel & Transformer Auxiliary Systems
Department: Engineering & Quality / Manufacturing
Employment Type: Full-Time
Contact : 7977772682, HR Vedang
Role Overview
We are seeking a hands-on, detail-oriented Electrical Engineer with solid practical expertise in industrial control panel engineering, wiring, and electrical troubleshooting. In this role, you will lead the electrical design, component sizing, wiring verification, testing, and commissioning of control panels specifically engineered for power transformer auxiliary and monitoring systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Panel Engineering & Design: Design, review, and validate single-line diagrams (SLD), electrical schematics, general arrangement (GA) drawings, and terminal connection diagrams for control panels and marshalling boxes.
- Component Selection & Sizing: Select and size switchgear, contactors, overload relays, MCBs/MCCBs, control transformers, SMPS, surge protection devices, and terminal blocks to match load and fault requirements.
- Transformer Auxiliary Systems: Implement and test control and protection circuits for transformer cooling controls (OF/AF fan and pump logic), Tap Changer (OLTC) controls, temperature indicators (OTI/WTI), and alarm/trip interlocks.
- Hands-on Wiring & Testing: Supervise and directly participate in power and control wiring, cable routing, ferrule verification, crimping standards, earthing, and electrical isolation.
- Factory Acceptance & Site Testing (FAT/SAT): Perform routine testing, point-to-point continuity checks, insulation resistance (megger) testing, high-voltage (HV) dielectric testing, and functional logic simulation.
- Root Cause & Troubleshooting: Diagnose and rectify wiring faults, intermittent relay chatter, voltage drop issues, and component failures during production, testing, or field commissioning.
- Documentation & Standards Compliance: Prepare Bills of Materials (BOM), test reports, and operating manuals in compliance with relevant IS/IEC standards and ISO 9001 quality guidelines.
Key Requirements & Competencies
- Education: B.E. / B.Tech or Diploma in Electrical Engineering.
- Experience: 2–6 years of hands-on experience in control panel manufacturing, transformer auxiliary panels, or substation equipment manufacturing.
- Technical Mastery:
- In-depth understanding of 1-phase and 3-phase AC distribution, DC auxiliary supplies, and neutral/grounding schemes.
- Practical mastery of hardwired relay/contactor logic, interlocking, and motor/fan control starters (DOL, Star-Delta).
- Working knowledge of sensor signal wiring (RTDs, 4–20 mA transducers, dry contacts) and noise mitigation.
- Familiarity with panel assembly standards, ingress protection (IP ratings), and panel thermal/earthing management.
- Software Tools: Proficiency in AutoCAD Electrical or equivalent schematic drafting tools; MS Office for technical documentation.
