Key Responsibilities

Business Strategy and Leadership
• Define and articulate a clear vision and strategy for the CVM Business Unit
• Translate global objectives into short-term and long-term business plans
• Anticipate market trends, challenges, and opportunities to drive proactive strategy

Commercial Performance and P&L Ownership
• Own and deliver Business Unit P&L, ensuring sustainable and profitable growth
• Drive market share growth through strong execution of sales and marketing strategies
• Ensure high quality of commercial execution and performance delivery

Brand Strategy and Marketing Excellence
• Lead development and execution of brand strategies across CVM portfolio
• Leverage scientific insights and market intelligence to shape strategy
• Ensure alignment with global brand direction and local market needs

Sales Force Effectiveness
• Drive sales force deployment aligned to strategic priorities
• Ensure achievement of sales targets through effective execution and monitoring
• Optimize field force productivity and performance

Cross-functional Collaboration
• Partner with Medical, Market Access, Regulatory, and other functions
• Drive integrated execution of business strategies
• Lead cross-functional initiatives critical to business success

Innovation and Patient-Centricity
• Drive innovative solutions to improve patient access and outcomes
• Build value-based strategies in collaboration with access and medical teams
• Focus on patient-centric approaches across the business

People and Organizational Leadership
• Build and lead a high-performing Business Unit team
• Drive talent development, succession planning, and capability building
• Foster a culture of accountability, performance, and continuous improvement

Operational Excellence and Compliance
• Ensure adherence to AstraZeneca’s Code of Ethics and compliance standards
• Drive disciplined execution of plans, budgets, and projects
• Maintain high standards of governance and risk management

People Management Scope
• Leadership of large Business Unit team in India (direct and indirect reports)
• Manager of managers with matrix leadership responsibilities

Education, Qualifications, Skills and Experience

Essential
• Graduate degree in Pharma, Science, or Medicine
• 15+ years of experience in pharmaceutical sales and marketing
• Strong leadership experience with P&L accountability
• Proven track record in driving commercial performance
• Strong strategic thinking and execution capability
• Deep understanding of India pharmaceutical market

Desirable
• MBA or advanced degree
• Experience in CVM or related therapy areas
• Experience managing product lifecycle including launch and growth phases
• Strong cross-functional leadership experience
