Senior Buyer - Delhi | TCNS Clothing | Apparels

Job Purpose - The Senior Buyer is responsible for executing the seasonal buying strategy for assigned product categories. The role focuses on assortment planning, buy quantity planning, vendor coordination, inventory management, and performance tracking to ensure timely product availability, strong sell-through, and achievement of business objectives. The Senior Buyer reports to the Buying Head and collaborates closely with design, sourcing, planning, and retail teams to translate consumer insights and business requirements into successful product assortments.

Role & Responsiblities 

Seasonal Buying & Assortment Planning  - Support the Buying Head in developing seasonal assortments for assigned categories. Analyze historical sales, market trends, and consumer preferences to recommend product selections. Participate in range reviews and assortment finalization activities.

 Buying Calendar Execution - Ensure adherence to the buying calendar and key product development milestones. Coordinate with design, sourcing, and planning teams to track progress and resolve delays. Maintain timely execution of seasonal buying activities, keeping the Buying Manager updated on status.

Vendor Coordination & Order Management - Work closely with vendors and sourcing teams to communicate buy quantities and delivery schedules. Track purchase orders and ensure adherence to agreed timelines and quality standards. Support vendor performance reviews and follow-up actions.

Inventory & Stock Optimization - Monitor inventory levels, stock cover, and sell-through performance across categories. Identify slow-moving and fast-selling products and recommend corrective actions to the Buying Manager. Support inventory balancing and replenishment decisions. 

 Sales & Performance Analysis - Conduct regular analysis of sales, product performance, and category trends. Prepare actionable insights and recommendations to improve category productivity. Track key metrics including sell-through, stock turn, and markdown performance, and report these to the Buying Manager. 

 In-Season Trading & Replenishment - Recommend repeat orders for high-performing products based on demand trends. Support allocation and replenishment decisions across regions and channels. Assist in managing markdowns and end-of-season inventory actions.

 Cross-Functional Collaboration - Partner with Design, Planning, Sourcing, Retail, and VM teams to support successful product launches. Gather feedback from stores and channels to improve future buying decisions. Ensure alignment of category plans with the Buying Manager's objectives. 

 Process Improvement & Best Practices - Maintain accurate buying records, reports, and analysis. Contribute ideas to improve buying processes, reporting, and inventory productivity. Ensure compliance with buying frameworks and operating procedures established by the Buying Manager.

Qualifications and Experience

Education: Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree/MBA preferred in Fashion Management, Retail Management, Business Administration or a related discipline. 

Experience: 8+ Years of experience in buying within the Fashion, Apparel or Retail industry.
