  • Plan, assign, prioritize, and monitor engineering work based on order complexity, schedule commitments, engineer capability, and available capacity.

  • Ensure engineered seal support systems, piping arrangements, instrumentation, components, and related documentation meet contractual, technical, safety, quality, and manufacturability requirements.

  • Coordinate with global business units, application engineering, project management, sales, manufacturing, sourcing, quality, and suppliers to resolve technical and schedule issues promptly.

  • Monitor order progress, identify risks and constraints early, implement recovery actions, and communicate status and escalation needs to stakeholders.

  • Ability to interpret customer specifications, process and instrumentation diagrams, general arrangement drawings, equipment data sheets, material requirements, and applicable industry standards.

  • Practical capability in order engineering, system configuration, component selection, design review, detailing, bill-of-material preparation, and engineering change control.

  • Sound understanding of mechanical design principles, materials, fabrication methods, welding, pressure-containing equipment, tolerances, GD&T, inspection, testing, and design for manufacturability.

  • Proficiency in reviewing engineering drawings and models, together with effective use of CPQ, PLM, and ERP systems for configuration, document control, material definition, and order execution.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, presentations, and other business tools used for planning, analysis, performance reporting, and stakeholder communication.

  • Working knowledge of relevant internal procedures and recognized international engineering, quality, and safety standards.

Leadership & People Management

  • Provide clear direction, daily supervision, technical guidance, motivation, and coaching to order-engineering team members.

  • Allocate work according to competency, workload, priority, and development needs while maintaining balanced utilization across the team.

  • Set performance expectations and review progress against delivery, quality, productivity, utilization, and behavioral objectives.

  • Build team capability through structured mentoring, technical reviews, knowledge sharing, cross-training, and individual development plans.

  • Support onboarding of new employees by ensuring timely access to required tools, systems, processes, standards, and technical resources.

  • Conduct regular one-to-one discussions, provide timely feedback, recognize strong performance, and address performance or conduct concerns in accordance with company practices.

  • Support performance and pay-review processes in coordination with the Engineering Manager / GTEC Leader.

  • Foster an inclusive, collaborative, accountable, and continuous-improvement culture consistent with Flowserve values and leadership expectations.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Typically, 10 or more years of relevant experience with a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or an equivalent engineering discipline;

  • Demonstrated experience in auxiliary seal systems, mechanical seals, pumps, valves, pressure systems, packaged equipment, or a closely related engineered-product environment.

  • Substantial experience in order engineering, product engineering, original-equipment engineering, applications engineering, or project-based technical execution.

  • Previous experience leading, supervising, or technically coordinating an engineering team in a global or cross-functional organization.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across cultures, functions, and time zones.

Competency

  • Technical leadership and sound engineering judgment.

  • Planning, prioritization, resource management, and execution discipline.

  • Customer focus and ownership of commitments.

  • Decision-making based on facts, risk, and business impact.

  • Problem solving, root-cause analysis, and continuous-improvement orientation.

  • Coaching, mentoring, performance management, and talent development.

  • Clear communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management.

  • Adaptability, resilience, accountability, and professional integrity.

  • Attention to detail while maintaining awareness of cost, schedule, and overall business objectives.
