Welder Fabrication

Job PurposeResponsible for carrying out welding, fabrication, modification, installation and repair activities for plant equipment, process piping, utility lines and structural components in compliance with cGMP, EHS and engineering standards.

• Key ResponsibilitiesPerform TIG/ARC/MIG welding as required for plant maintenance and fabrication activities.
• Carry out welding and fabrication of SS/MS/CS piping, structures, supports and equipment.
• Execute maintenance and modification work on process piping and utility systems.
• Handle fabrication and welding of pipelines for:
• Steam
• Condensate
• Chilled water
• Cooling water
• Compressed air
• Nitrogen
• Vacuum
• Solvents and other utility/process services
• Carry out welding work on reactors, vessels, storage tanks, scrubbers, receivers and associated piping, as permitted by plant procedures.
• Perform breakdown and preventive maintenance welding/fabrication work.
• Read and understand fabrication drawings, piping layouts and basic engineering drawings.
• Ensure proper joint preparation, alignment, welding sequence and finishing.
• Perform welding work while maintaining required quality standards for pharmaceutical manufacturing areas.
• Support engineering teams during equipment installation, modification and shutdown activities.
• Conduct leak testing / visual inspection of welded joints as per applicable procedures.
• Maintain welding machines, gas cutting equipment, tools and accessories.
• Follow approved WPS/PQR and welding procedures, wherever applicable.
• Maintain proper housekeeping and ensure safe working conditions.
• Follow Permit-to-Work, Hot Work Permit, LOTO, PPE and EHS requirements.
• Ensure work is carried out without compromising GMP and product-contamination-control requirements.
• Maintain maintenance records and relevant documentation.

API Plant Exposure PreferredCandidates with experience in API/intermediate manufacturing plants should preferably have exposure to:

• Reactors
• Centrifuges
• Filter dryers
• ANFD
• Agitated vessels
• Scrubbers
• Solvent recovery systems
• Vacuum systems
• Utility piping
• Steam and condensate lines
• Nitrogen systems
• Cooling/chilled water systems
• SS/CS/Alloy piping and fabrication
• QualificationITI – Welder preferred.
• ITI in Fabrication/Fitter with strong welding experience may also be considered.
• Relevant certification in welding will be an advantage.
