Job Description
We're looking for an experienced Associate - Mechanical - Buildings Services to join our team in Bengaluru, India. In this role, you will lead mechanical systems projects and initiatives while providing technical expertise and mentorship to junior team members. You will be responsible for overseeing the design, installation, maintenance, and optimization of building mechanical systems, including HVAC, plumbing, and related infrastructure. This position offers the opportunity to make a significant impact on building performance and operational efficiency while driving continuous improvement across our mechanical services portfolio.
- Lead and oversee mechanical systems projects from conception through completion, ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, and quality standards
- Design, analyze, and optimize HVAC, plumbing, and other mechanical systems for commercial and residential buildings
- Mentor and supervise junior mechanical engineers and technicians, providing guidance on technical matters and professional development
- Prepare and review technical documentation, drawings, specifications, and reports using CAD software and industry-standard tools
- Ensure all mechanical systems comply with building codes, safety regulations, and industry standards
- Conduct site inspections and troubleshoot mechanical system issues, implementing effective solutions
- Coordinate with contractors, vendors, and other stakeholders to ensure project requirements are met
- Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs to optimize system performance and longevity
- Analyze system performance data and recommend improvements for energy efficiency and cost reduction
- Communicate project status, technical findings, and recommendations to internal teams and clients
- Stay current with industry best practices, emerging technologies, and regulatory changes in building services
Qualifications
- 15+ years of professional experience in mechanical engineering or building services, with at least 3 years in a leadership or supervisory capacity
- Strong expertise in HVAC systems design, installation, and maintenance
- Proficiency with CAD software and technical design tools
- In-depth knowledge of building codes, safety standards, and mechanical system regulations
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a methodical approach to troubleshooting
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to mentor and develop team members
- Experience in project management, including budget tracking and resource allocation
- Knowledge of energy efficiency principles and sustainable building practices
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Preferred: Experience with BIM (Building Information Modeling) software
- Preferred: Familiarity with preventive maintenance planning and optimization
- Preferred: Experience in vendor and contractor management
