Engineering Manager, Search Platforms

Minimum qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent practical experience.
• 8 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages (e.g., C, C++, Java, JavaScript, TypeScript).
• 3 years of experience in a people management and 2 years of experience in a technical leadership role.

Preferred qualifications:

• Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or related technical fields.
• 5 years of experience working in a complex organization.
• Experience leading through technical and organizational complexity.
• Experience with Java, C++, or both.
• Passion for technology, collaboration, and solving challenging problems.

Responsibilities

• Work at the very center of Search and be comfortable to operate in a fast changing environment by challenging the status quo, staying scrappy while ensuring the team is hustling.
• Interact with AI systems to drive productivity and achieve desired outcomes and inform strategic decisions for yourself and your team.
• Define scope and impact of the team with other technical leads, and communicate broadly. Establish clear responsibility boundaries for people and teams .
• Support the health of your team proactively (e.g. psychological safety, timely conflict resolution, openness, and collaboration) as well as your partner teams.
