The Impact of a Principal Product Manager :

As Principal Product Manager for Coupa’s Core Sourcing solution, you will be the strategic owner of a mission-critical domain sitting at the center of spend optimization, supplier competition, and enterprise negotiation. You will define and drive the long-term product vision for Autonomous Sourcing, with a primary focus on designing, mapping, and orchestrating intelligent AI Agents that automate sourcing workflows—from event creation to multi-parameter negotiation and award analysis.

This is a high-impact, high-influence role for a visionary product leader who can combine algorithmic game theory, agentic reasoning, and Coupa’s $10T+ community dataset to deliver a market-leading, differentiated autonomous sourcing engine.

• Redefine the Sourcing Experience: Shift sourcing from a manual, project-by-project process into an intelligent, continuous, and autonomous engine that executes spend strategies on behalf of customers.
• Build Strategic AI Moats: Architect deterministic, guardrailed AI agents that handle no-touch tail spend negotiations and co-pilot complex, strategic sourcing events with zero hallucination risk.
• Shape the Market Narrative: Position Coupa as the undisputed product of choice for autonomous sourcing by delivering a closed-loop system—from bid analysis through agentic supplier engagement to accepted terms.

What You’ll Do

• Own the Autonomous Strategy & Roadmap: Lead the end-to-end product strategy for Coupa Sourcing, focusing on mapping AI agents across the sourcing lifecycle (template creation, market signaling, autonomous launch, negotiation, and awarding).
• Architect AI Agent Workflows: Define the interaction model between human buyers and AI agents. Map multi-parameter trade-off logic (pricing, early payment discounts, Net terms, and SLAs) into deterministic mathematical guardrails for autonomous execution.
• Solve Complex Spend Challenges: Partner closely with enterprise procurement leaders to translate complex sourcing strategies into automated agent behavior across both high-volume tail spend and strategic categories.
• Drive Cross-Product Integration: Ensure sourcing agents seamlessly bridge upstream intake, supplier portal (CSP) workflows, and downstream contracting and procurement operationalization.
• Partner Deeply with AI & Engineering Leaders: Collaborate with AI researchers, game theorists, and engineering leads to define technical requirements, agent prompt architectures, and model evaluation benchmarks.
• Lead Go-To-Market & Executive Alignment: Act as the primary evangelist for Coupa's autonomous sourcing vision, delivering compelling customer briefings, competitive positioning against point solutions, and product demos.

What You Will Bring to Coupa

 
• Proven AI & Product Leadership: 7+ years of product management experience shipping enterprise SaaS products, with a demonstrated track record of designing, building, or mapping AI/ML, LLM, or agentic automation capabilities.
• Sourcing & Negotiation Domain Expertise: Deep understanding of strategic sourcing, e-auctions, RFXs, supplier negotiation tactics, game theory, and multi-criteria bid optimization.
• Technical Rigor in AI/Agents: Strong understanding of agentic workflows, deterministic guardrails, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), and API-driven orchestration across transaction platforms.
• Competitive Instincts: Ability to articulate structural differentiators against point-solution competitors, focusing on closed-loop execution, network-scale benchmarking, and risk-mitigated trade-offs.
• Customer-Centric Storytelling: Exceptional ability to communicate complex, technical AI concepts simply and persuasively to C-level executives, practitioners, and cross-functional internal teams.
