Role Overview

We are seeking a skilled Python Backend Developer with strong experience in building scalable applications and APIs using modern Python frameworks such as FastAPI (preferred) or Django. The ideal candidate will have approximately 70% focus on backend application development and 30% focus on data processing, validation, security, and integrations.

Key Responsibilities

Backend Application Development (70%)

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend applications using FastAPI, Django, or similar Python frameworks.
• Build and manage RESTful APIs and microservices to support enterprise applications.
• Develop reusable, maintainable, and testable code following software engineering best practices.
• Implement application business logic, workflow orchestration, and service integrations.
• Optimize application performance, scalability, and reliability.
• Collaborate with frontend developers, product teams, and business stakeholders to deliver end-to-end solutions.
• Participate in code reviews, design discussions, and deployment activities.

API Development & Integration

• Design secure and well-documented APIs.
• Integrate third-party systems, enterprise platforms, and external services through APIs.
• Handle API versioning, error handling, throttling, and monitoring.
• Create technical documentation for APIs and services.

Data Validation, Authentication & Security (30%)

• Ability to analyze and interpret data from diverse internal and external sources to design robust, data-driven APIs and solutions - including data validation and sanitization mechanism
• Design and develop authentication and authorization solutions using:
  • OAuth2
  • JWT
  • Role-Based Access Control (RBAC)
  • Single Sign-On (SSO), where applicable
• Ensure application security and compliance with secure coding standards.
• Develop audit logging, access controls, and security monitoring mechanisms.

Database & Data Management

• Design and optimize database schemas.
• Write efficient SQL queries and manage data persistence layers.
• Work with relational databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, or SQL Server.
• Perform data validation, transformation, and integrity checks as part of application workflows.

Testing & DevOps

• Develop unit tests, integration tests, and API test suites.
• Support CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation.
• Work with containerization technologies such as Docker and cloud platforms when required.

Required Qualifications

Education

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.

Technical Skills

Must Have

• Strong Python programming experience (3+ years preferred).
• Hands-on experience with:
  • FastAPI (preferred) or
  • Django / Django REST Framework
• Experience designing and developing REST APIs and backend services.
• Solid understanding of:
  • Authentication & Authorization
  • OAuth2
  • JWT
  • RBAC
• Strong SQL and database design experience.
• Experience integrating external systems through APIs.

Good to Have

• Knowledge of:
  • Pandas and NumPy
  • Data validation and transformation techniques
  • Microservices architecture
  • Docker and Kubernetes
  • Azure, AWS, or GCP
  • Message queues such as Kafka or RabbitMQ

• Strong problem-solving and analytical capabilities.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions.
