Responsibilities & Key Deliverables
Role Overview
As part of the Mahindra Auto International Operations team, the Manager – Product Planning will support in defining the IO growth roadmap by analysing global markets, tracking industry and regulatory developments, and generating data-driven insights. The role will enable informed decision-making by identifying growth opportunities, monitoring competition, and providing actionable recommendations to strengthen market position and guide product strategy
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct detailed analysis of international markets to support IO growth roadmap, including identification of growth opportunities and key market drivers.
- Support preparation of country-wise growth plans by analysing market conditions, competition, and entry strategies, and providing relevant inputs.
- Analyse market evolution across powertrain technologies (ICE, Hybrid, EV) and track key factors influencing transition such as regulations, infrastructure, and customer adoption.
- Study and track country-specific regulatory and emission norms and assess their impact on product planning and compliance requirements.
- Track key market developments including Mahindra’s market share movement in existing markets, competitor launches and actions and identify opportunities for improving market share.
- Conduct regular secondary research on automotive industry trends across international markets, including customer trends and future mobility developments.
- Analyse relevant industry and market data points to derive insights and support decision-making inputs for business and product strategy.
- Compile insights and present findings in a structured manner, highlighting opportunities, risks, and actionable recommendations.
Experience
Key Skills & Competencies
- Strong analytical skills with ability to interpret market, industry, and regulatory data
- Proficiency in conducting structured secondary research and synthesizing insights
- Understanding of automotive industry dynamics including powertrain evolution, competition, and customer trends
- Ability to track and analyse market developments, regulatory frameworks, and competitive actions
- Strong data handling and presentation skills (Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
- Good Interpersonal skills, able to adapt and work with leaders and CFT teams
- Cross-functional working skills to collaborate with functions like Sales, Marketing, Customer Care, Finance etc
- Keen follower of market & consumer Insights.
- Passionate about cars and the automotive industry
- Ability to think holistically with a strategic intent

Experience & Qualifications
- Must Have: BE/ B.Tech / M.Tech in Mechanical/Automotive Engineering,
- Good to have: MBA Marketing desirable
- Experience of atleast 4-7 years relevant experience with at least 2 years in a roles like product planning, product marketing, strategy, international sales
- Proven track record of success in developing and executing a business case
- International markets exposure in business planning/coordination (Good to Have)
