Maintenance Technician

Job Summary

·      We are looking for a skilled and responsible Maintenance Technician – Electrical & Mechanical to ensure the smooth, safe and efficient operation of plant machinery, electrical systems and production equipment. The candidate will be responsible for preventive maintenance, breakdown maintenance, troubleshooting and timely repair of equipment while following company safety, hygiene, GMP and food-safety requirements.

Key Responsibilities – Electrical Maintenance

·      Perform preventive and breakdown maintenance of electrical equipment and machinery.

·      Troubleshoot electrical faults in motors, starters, contactors, relays, sensors, switches, panels and wiring.

·      Check and maintain electrical panels, motors, pumps, drives and other electrical equipment.

·      Identify electrical issues and take timely corrective action to minimize machine downtime.

·      Ensure proper electrical connections, earthing and safe working conditions.

·      Maintain electrical maintenance records and checklists.

Key Responsibilities – Mechanical Maintenance

·      Perform preventive and corrective maintenance of production machinery and equipment.

·      Troubleshoot mechanical breakdowns and carry out necessary repairs.

·      Handle maintenance of pumps, motors, conveyors, bearings, gearboxes, valves and other mechanical equipment.

·      Carry out equipment alignment, lubrication, replacement of worn-out parts and routine inspections.

·      Assist in installation, commissioning and modification of machinery.

·      Identify recurring breakdowns and support root-cause analysis and corrective actions.

Preventive & Breakdown Maintenance

·      Follow the preventive maintenance schedule and ensure timely completion of assigned jobs.

·      Respond promptly to machine breakdowns to minimize production downtime.

·      Maintain daily maintenance logs, breakdown reports and equipment history.

·      Coordinate with Production and QA/QC teams during maintenance activities.

·      Monitor spare parts and inform the concerned person about required maintenance materials.

Safety & Food Safety

·      Follow all safety procedures and use appropriate PPE during maintenance activities.

·      Follow proper machine isolation/LOTO procedures wherever applicable.

·      Maintain cleanliness of the maintenance area after completing maintenance work.

·      Ensure maintenance activities do not create any contamination risk in the food-production area.

·      Follow company GMP, hygiene, food-safety and other applicable procedures.

·      Report unsafe conditions, equipment defects and potential hazards immediately.

Qualification

·      ITI / Diploma in Electrical, Mechanical or related technical trade.

·      1–2 years of relevant experience in industrial/manufacturing maintenance.

·      Experience in a food/FMCG manufacturing environment will be preferred.

Required Skills

·      Good electrical and mechanical troubleshooting skills.

·      Knowledge of preventive and breakdown maintenance.

·      Basic knowledge of motors, pumps, gearboxes, bearings, sensors and electrical panels.

·      Ability to read basic electrical/mechanical drawings and manuals.

·      Good problem-solving and decision-making skills.

·      Basic computer and maintenance documentation skills.

·      Ability to work in shifts and respond to emergency breakdowns.

·      Good teamwork, discipline and communication skills.
