1. Job PurposeThe Production Supervisor will be responsible for day-to-day production activities, manpower management, operator and labour supervision, production planning execution, machine utilization, discipline, quality coordination and production MIS reporting.

The Supervisor will work as a key link between the Production Manager and operators/helpers/labour, ensuring that all production activities are completed safely, efficiently and as per the production plan.

• 2. Key ResponsibilitiesA. Production OperationsExecute daily production plans as instructed by the Production Manager.
• Ensure smooth and continuous production throughout the shift.
• Monitor machine-wise production and achieve daily production targets.
• Ensure proper utilization of manpower, machines and raw materials.
• Monitor production quantity, wastage, rejection and productivity.
• Identify production delays and immediately report them to the Production Manager.
• Coordinate with Maintenance for machine breakdowns and technical issues.
• Ensure proper shift handover and takeover.
• B. Manpower, Labour & Operator ManagementDirectly supervise operators, helpers and contractual labour.
• Allocate manpower according to machine and production requirements.
• Ensure every operator understands his machine/process responsibility.
• Maintain discipline, attendance and proper workplace behaviour.
• Monitor operator and labour performance during the shift.
• Guide new operators/helpers regarding work procedures and safety.
• Ensure proper manpower availability in all shifts.
• Report absenteeism, manpower shortage and performance issues to the Production Manager.
• Prevent unnecessary manpower movement and idle time.
• C. Leadership & Team ManagementLead the production team with discipline and professionalism.
• Give clear work instructions to operators and labour.
• Develop team coordination and responsibility among workers.
• Motivate employees to achieve production targets.
• Resolve routine operator/helper issues at the supervisor level.
• Escalate serious disciplinary, behavioural or operational matters to the Production Manager/HR.
• Ensure proper communication between shifts.
• D. Production Manager SupportAct as the operational support person for the Production Manager.
• Follow and implement instructions given by the Production Manager.
• Provide accurate production information and operational updates.
• Keep the Production Manager informed about production status, manpower, breakdowns, wastage and major issues.
• Support the Production Manager in implementing production improvement plans.
• Assist in planning manpower and machine allocation.
• Take responsibility for shift-level production activities.

E. Production MIS & ReportingThe Production Supervisor must prepare and submit daily production MIS to the Production Manager.

MIS should include:

• Date and shift
• Machine-wise production
• Product-wise production
• Target vs. actual production
• Machine running hours
• Machine breakdown hours
• Downtime
• Manpower present/absent
• Operator-wise performance
• Labour utilization
• Raw material consumption
• Production wastage
• Rejection / quality issues
• Rework quantity
• Production efficiency
• Major production problems
• Maintenance issues
• Pending activities
• Next-shift requirements
