Quantity Surveyor & Costing EngineerIndustry: Turnkey Residential Construction

Location: Bangalore | Experience: 2–6 Years

Education: Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech – Civil Engineering

ROLE SUMMARY

buildAhome is looking for a detail-oriented Quantity Surveyor & Costing Engineer with 2–6 years of experience in residential construction projects, with strong hands-on knowledge of quantity take-off, estimation, BOQ, costing, rate analysis and cost control.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Prepare quantity take-offs, BOQs, estimates and detailed project costing from drawings and specifications.
• Prepare rate analysis for civil, structural, architectural and finishing works.
• Read and interpret architectural, structural and construction drawings accurately.
• Prepare and update project budgets, cost sheets and cost comparisons.
• Verify quantities, rates, quotations, work orders and contractor/subcontractor bills.
• Coordinate with Design, Projects, Purchase, Site and Accounts teams for costing and commercial requirements.
• Monitor project costs against budgets and identify variations, overruns and cost-saving opportunities.
• Track scope/design changes and update quantities, BOQs and costing accordingly.
• Support Purchase/Procurement with material quantities, specifications and cost inputs.
• Maintain accurate records of BOQs, estimates, measurements, bills and cost reports.
• Ensure timely submission of costing, estimates and commercial reports.
• REQUIRED SKILLS & COMPETENCIES2–6 years of relevant QS/Costing experience in residential construction.
• Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech – Civil Engineering.
• Strong knowledge of BOQ, quantity take-off, estimation, costing and rate analysis.
• Good understanding of civil, structural, architectural and finishing works.
• Good knowledge of construction materials, specifications and applications.
• Strong MS Excel, numerical and analytical skills.
• Knowledge of contractor billing, measurements, work orders and cost control.
• Strong attention to detail, coordination, follow-up and reporting skills.
• Ability to handle multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced turnkey construction environment.

PREFERRED BACKGROUND

Experience in Turnkey Construction, Residential Construction, Real Estate, Builders or Contractors will be preferred.
