CNC Machine Operator

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

• Set up or program CNC machinery according to job specifications.
• Load and secure workpieces using fixtures, chucks, or vises. 
• Execute CNC programs and monitor machine operation for abnormal sounds or vibrations. 
• Perform in‑process quality checks using calipers, micrometers, gauges, and other precision instruments. 
• Inspect finished parts to ensure they meet dimensional tolerances.
• Change worn or damaged cutting tools and adjust offsets as needed.
• Maintain cleanliness of the machine area, remove chips, and ensure proper lubrication and cooling. 
• Perform daily maintenance and basic troubleshooting to reduce downtime. 
• Document production processes and adjustments.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED; vocational or technical training preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and GD&T.
• Understanding of CNC machinery, tooling, and machining processes. 
• Proficiency with measurement tools (micrometers, calipers, gauges). 
• Mechanical aptitude and problem‑solving skills. 
• Familiarity with CAD/CAM or G‑code is beneficial, especially in advanced roles.
• Commitment to safety and quality standards.
