ITI Mechanical Engineer

We are seeking a skilled ITI Mechanical Engineer to support the fabrication, assembly, and testing of precision mechanical components used in our surgical robotic systems. The role requires high attention to detail, as tolerances in surgical robotics are extremely tight and directly impact patient safety.

Key Responsibilities

1.      Assemble mechanical sub-systems, linkages, joints, and precision components for robotic surgical arms.

2.      Read and interpret mechanical drawings, GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing), and assembly instructions.

3.      Operate hand tools, measuring instruments (Vernier calipers, micrometers, dial gauges), and basic machine tools.

4.      Perform fit, alignment, and torque checks as per engineering specifications.

5.      Support fabrication, machining coordination, and quality inspection of mechanical parts.

6.      Conduct functional testing and troubleshooting of mechanical assemblies.

7.      Creating and maintaining SOPs.

8.      Maintain detailed assembly logs, inspection records, and deviation reports.

9.      Ensure adherence to ISO 13485 and medical device manufacturing standards.

10.   Collaborate with electrical, software, and quality teams for integrated system assembly.

11.   Follow cleanroom protocols and handle precision components with care to avoid contamination or damage.

Required Qualifications

1. ITI / Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
2. 2 years of hands-on experience in mechanical assembly or precision manufacturing.

Technical Skills & Competencies

1.      Strong understanding of mechanical assembly processes, fits, and tolerances.

2.      Hands-on experience with precision measuring instruments and hand tools.

3.      Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and BOMs.

4.      Basic knowledge of materials (metals, polymers) used in precision equipment.

5.      High attention to detail and commitment to quality, given the critical nature of surgical devices.
