Job Description – Placement Officer

Job Purpose
The Placement Officer will be responsible for facilitating employment opportunities for
trainees. Initiate, develop and maintain strong relationships with employers across various
sectors to organize recruitment drives, coordinate interviews, ascertain successful placements,
and provide post-placement support. The role aims to achieve the placement targets of the
organization while ensuring quality employment opportunities for beneficiaries.
Key Responsibilities
1. Employer Engagement
Identify and develop relationships with companies across various sectors.
Generate employment opportunities through regular employer outreach.
Maintain an updated database of employers and recruiters.
Conduct employer visits to understand hiring requirements.
Negotiate job opportunities suitable for trainees.
Enlist new organisation/industries for generation of employment for trainees
2. Placement Activities
Match candidates with suitable job opportunities based on their skills and interests.
Coordinate interviews, recruitment drives, campus placements, and job fairs.
Schedule interview dates and communicate details to candidates.
Ensure candidates are well prepared and attend interviews on time
Track interview outcomes and placement status.
3. Documentation, MIS & Digital Placement Portals
Maintain accurate placement records and beneficiary databases.
Update the Management Information System (MIS) on a regular basis of candidate,
interview, placement, and retention details.
Register and onboard new employers on the organization's placement portal and other
designated digital employment platforms.
Maintain and regularly update employer profiles, job vacancies, and recruitment
requirements on the portal.
Coordinate with employers to ensure job postings are current and accessible to
eligible candidates.
Upload candidate profiles, resumes, interview schedules, offer letters, joining status,
and post-placement details on the relevant portals.
Ensure timely and accurate data entry on donor, government, and organizational
portals, as applicable.
Monitor portal analytics and placement progress to ensure achievement of placement
targets.
Generate and submit daily, weekly, and monthly MIS and placement reports to
management.
Maintain employer agreements, placement documentation, and digital records in an
organized and audit-ready manner.
Ensure the accuracy, confidentiality, and security of beneficiary and employer data in
compliance with organizational policies and applicable data protection regulations.
.5. Target Achievement
Achieve monthly and annual placement targets.
Ensure minimum placement percentages as per donor or project requirements.
Improve placement quality and retention rates.
Plan strategies to increase employer participation.
6. Networking & Industry Relations
Develop partnerships with industries, HR professionals, staffing agencies, and
recruitment consultants.
Represent the organization at job fairs, industry meetings, and networking events.
Explore new employment sectors for beneficiary placement.
8. Compliance
Ensure placements comply with project guidelines and donor requirements.
Maintain confidentiality of beneficiary information.
Adhere to organizational policies and statutory regulations.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
Number of employer partnerships developed.
Number of interviews organized.
Number of candidates placed.
Placement percentage achieved.
Candidate retention rate (30/60/90 days as applicable).
Employer satisfaction.
Beneficiary satisfaction.
Timely submission of reports.
Accuracy of MIS data.
Repeat hiring from employers.
Educational Qualification
Bachelor's Degree in any discipline.
MBA (HR/Marketing) or Post Graduate qualification preferred.
Experience
2–5 years of experience in placement, recruitment, HR, or skill development.
Experience in NGO, CSR, Skill India, NSDC, DDU-GKY, PMKVY, NAPS, or
livelihood projects will be preferred.
