Job Purpose

Responsible for Circle IRU Governance fiber network operations management through other operators.

To develop, implement and govern long term operating models for smooth functioning of IRU operations OFC Network in line with Vodafone Idea India’s mission of being No.1 player in Indian mobile Voice & Data services.

To ensure that the operating team of Vodafone Idea transmission network of India meet the Transmission network KPIs and SLA improvement for mobility/enterprises services

Key Result Areas/Accountabilities

1). Own/IRU fiber performance management and governance as per agreed SLA.

2). Fiber cuts/1000km, MTTR, Fiber losses, Fiber Integrity & Permanent Restoration KPI maintenance with Fiber O&M from IRU partners.

3). Team Building, competency development and communications across teams.

4). Achieve operational excellence by driving process standardization & process automation for entire transmission network requirement with IRU partners.

5). HSW Compliances.

6). Own/IRU Database Management.

7). Responsible for all budget related and network related data base monthly backup in sync with  

8). Planning/Project/Finance and commercial team.

9). IRU & Own VIL M&G Fiber Network Various Vendors PO/Billing/GRN/Invoice processing/Payment follow-up with internal Departments and Management.

10). Commercial and legal understanding for closure of contract and agreements with IRU partners to get better KPIs and cost factor advantage

11). Support for Fiber O&M.

12). Responsible for given/taken faults tickets and validation with IRU partner

 

Core Competencies, Knowledge, Experience

 

1). 6-8 years of Telecom experience and Proficiency in understanding overall transport NW architecture and key cost drivers.

2). Understanding of IP/MPLS & Optics NW architecture to build scalable fiber NW

Sound understanding of Opex and budgetary skills to derive best out of NW at lowest possible cost.

3). Should employ a specific time management strategy to ensure closure of fiber projects on fixed time periods.

4). Commercial and legal understanding for closure of contract and agreements with IRU partners to get better KPIs and cost factor advantage.

5). Strong Stakeholder management, Negotiation skills and Strategic mind set to make win-win alliance with TSP partners and IRU partners

 

Key Performance Indicators

1). To maintain SLA / KPI of 6.5 cuts/1000km for VIL IRU fiber across PAN India.

2). To achieve over MTTR of 4 hours for fiber cut restoration from IRU operators.

3). Losses for optical fiber should be in range of 0.3db/km to 0.4 db/km.

4). Fiber Integrity test to manage / control the unused assets in the network from IRU partners.

5). To optimize the Fiber integrity from IRU partners so as to smartly use the media and surrender the optimized media. ZERO Percent deviation in IRU PO/Billing
