Inventory Analyst
Department: Commercial Insights & Analytics, Operations GBS
Company: Novo Nordisk Global Business Services (GBS)
Turn data into decisions that keep life-saving medicines flowing to patients across the globe. In this role, you'll be the analytical backbone behind inventory health and supply chain excellence – ensuring the right products reach the right markets at the right time.
About the department:
Operations GBS is at the heart of Novo Nordisk’s executional excellence and efficiency. Based in Bangalore, our department focuses on a wide range of operations-related activities, including marketed brands execution, medical affairs operations, omnichannel operations, commercial analytics, operational communications, customer fulfilment within the commercial supply chain, and sustainability. The position
As an Inventory Analyst, you will provide analytical, operational, and governance support for inventory planning and Centre of Excellence activities. Day-to-day your tasks will include:
- Monitoring inventory health across assigned affiliates, regions, and product portfolios – analysing stock availability, weeks of supply, stock-out risks, overstock, slow-moving stock, expiry exposure, and batch risk with value impact
- Preparing inventory insights, exception reports, and recommendations to support supply-demand balancing and mitigation actions
- Developing, maintaining, and improving inventory KPIs, dashboards, trackers, and governance routines to ensure clear visibility of performance and escalations
- Partnering with Centre of Excellence teams to standardize supply chain processes, reporting templates, and ways of working across regions
- Driving root-cause analysis and supporting corrective actions for recurring inventory and planning issues
- Identifying process gaps and supporting automation, digitalization, and simplification initiatives to reduce manual workload and improve decision quality
- Creating and maintaining SOPs, process flows, RACI matrices, and training materials to promote operational discipline and accountability
Qualifications
We're looking for an Inventory Analyst with a sharp analytical mind and a passion for driving supply chain performance.
To succeed in this role, you will bring:
- A bachelor’s or master’s degree in supply chain, Operations, Business Administration, Finance, or a related discipline
- 5 to 8 years of relevant professional experience
- Relevant experience in supply chain operations, inventory management, demand planning, S&OP, order management, or Centre of Excellence support
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret inventory, demand, supply, forecast, and order data and turn it into clear, action-oriented recommendations
- Strong understanding of inventory principles, replenishment planning, forecast review, stock health monitoring, and supply-demand balancing
- Proficiency in SAP, O2C, OMP or similar planning tools, Power BI, Excel, and dashboard/reporting solutions
- Experience working with cross-functional teams, regional stakeholders, affiliates, and operational partners
- Strong documentation skills, including SOP creation, process mapping, and governance framework development
