PHP Developer

Part-Time Web Developer – PHP / MySQL / OpenCartKarghewale is looking for a part-time web developer to work on ongoing enhancement and development projects across our internal and customer-facing web applications.

Our primary website, Karghewale.com, is built on OpenCart 3.0.3.2 and has been significantly customised for our business requirements. We also operate an in-house PHP/MySQL-based MIS used by our team for managing various operational processes.

The selected developer will work with us on new features, improvements, integrations, bug fixes and optimisation projects across these systems.

• Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop and implement enhancements to our customised OpenCart 3.0.3.2 website.
• Develop new features and modules for our in-house PHP/MySQL MIS.
• Modify and improve existing PHP, MySQL, JavaScript, HTML and CSS code.
• Understand existing code and database structures before making changes.
• Troubleshoot and resolve application, database and integration issues.
• Build or modify APIs and integrations with third-party services where required.
• Improve usability, performance and reliability of existing systems.
• Test changes thoroughly before deployment and avoid disrupting existing functionality.
• Maintain clean, structured and documented code.
• Coordinate directly with our internal team to understand requirements and convert them into workable technical solutions.
• What We Are Looking ForStrong hands-on experience with PHP and MySQL.
• Experience working with OpenCart, preferably OpenCart 3.x.
• Good understanding of HTML, CSS and JavaScript.
• Ability to understand and work confidently with an existing customised codebase.
• Good knowledge of relational databases and SQL.
• Experience with APIs and third-party integrations is preferred.
• Comfortable working independently and taking ownership of assigned development projects.
• Ability to understand business requirements rather than simply execute predefined coding instructions.
• Responsible approach to testing, backups, deployment and production systems.

Nature of the RoleThis is a part-time, ongoing engagement, rather than a one-time development project.

The workload will vary depending on the enhancement projects being undertaken. We are looking for someone who can become familiar with our systems over time and work with us on a continuing basis.

The role would suit an experienced freelance developer or someone looking for a serious long-term part-time development engagement.
