Job Description
- Production Planning & ExecutionSupervise day-to-day production activities as per production schedule.
- Ensure production targets are achieved within the committed timeline.
- Allocate work to machine operators, carpenters, helpers, and other production staff.
- Monitor work progress and resolve production-related issues promptly.
- Coordinate with Stores, Purchase, Design, and Dispatch departments for smooth workflow.
- Quality ControlEnsure all products meet company quality standards.
- Conduct regular quality inspections during production.
- Minimize defects, rework, and material wastage.
- Implement corrective actions whenever quality issues are identified.
- Manpower ManagementAssign duties and monitor employee performance.
- Maintain discipline, attendance, and productivity of production workers.
- Train new employees on work procedures and safety practices.
- Motivate the team to improve efficiency and achieve production goals.
- Material & Inventory CoordinationEnsure timely availability of raw materials and hardware before production begins.
- Coordinate with the Store Department regarding material shortages.
- Monitor material consumption and reduce unnecessary wastage.
- Report shortages or discrepancies immediately.
- Machine & Equipment ManagementEnsure machines and tools are properly maintained.
- Report machine breakdowns to the maintenance team.
- Monitor proper usage of machinery and equipment.
- Safety & ComplianceEnsure all employees follow safety guidelines and use Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Maintain a clean, organised, and safe work environment.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and factory regulations.
- Documentation & ReportingMaintain daily production reports.
- Record production output, rejection, downtime, and manpower utilisation.
- Submit daily production status updates to management.
- Maintain production records and work orders accurately.
- Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)Daily production target achievement (%)
- On-time completion of production orders
- Product rejection and rework percentage
- Material wastage percentage
- Labour productivity
- Machine downtime
- Attendance and discipline compliance
