Reports To: Director / Management
Job SummaryCrilam Decorative Pvt. Ltd. is looking for an experienced and responsible Plant Manager to independently manage day-to-day manufacturing operations.
The Plant Manager will be responsible for production planning, manpower management, machine utilization, quality control, raw material coordination, maintenance, dispatch coordination, wastage control, safety and daily production reporting.
The objective of this position is to ensure that the plant achieves its production targets with consistent quality, minimum wastage, optimum manpower and maximum machine efficiency.
- Key Responsibilities1. Production Planning & ExecutionPrepare daily, weekly and monthly production plans based on customer orders and priorities.
- Allocate jobs to machines and operators.
- Ensure production targets are achieved within committed timelines.
- Monitor Work-in-Progress (WIP) at every production stage.
- Coordinate with Sales/Office team regarding urgent orders and delivery commitments.
- Identify production bottlenecks and take corrective action.
2. Machine & Production ManagementManage and monitor operations of major production equipment including:
- PUR Flat Lamination Machine
- Acrylic Lamination Machine
- CNC Machine
- Panel Saw
- Calibrator and other supporting machinery
Ensure:
- Proper machine utilization.
- Correct machine settings and operating procedures.
- Minimum machine idle time.
- Preventive maintenance schedules are followed.
- Machine breakdowns are reported and resolved quickly.
- Maintenance and breakdown records are maintained.
- 3. Manpower ManagementAllocate operators and labour according to the daily production plan.
- Monitor attendance, punctuality and discipline.
- Assign responsibilities to operators and helpers.
- Ensure workers follow proper manufacturing procedures.
- Monitor individual/team productivity.
- Train workers for improved productivity, quality and safety.
- Report manpower shortages or performance issues to management.
4. Quality ControlEnsure quality checks at every major production stage, including:
Incoming Material → Cutting → Calibration → Lamination → CNC/Processing → Finishing → Packing → Dispatch
Monitor:
- Dimensions and thickness
- Surface finish
- Lamination quality
- Adhesion
- CNC accuracy
- Groove/design accuracy
- Edge finishing
- Scratches/damage
- Final appearance
Rejected or defective material should be identified, recorded and investigated before dispatch.
5. Raw Material & Inventory CoordinationMonitor availability and consumption of:
- Boards
- Laminates/Mica
- Acrylic sheets
- Adhesives
- Films
- Profiles
- Packing materials
- Consumables
Responsibilities include:
- Issue material according to production requirements.
- Prevent unnecessary material consumption.
- Maintain minimum stock alerts for critical materials.
- Coordinate purchase requirements with management/accounts.
- Track actual consumption against expected consumption.
6. Wastage & Cost ControlThe Plant Manager will be responsible for reducing:
- Board wastage
- Laminate/Acrylic wastage
- Adhesive wastage
- Rework
- Rejections
- Machine downtime
- Unnecessary overtime
- Material damage
Major wastage or abnormal consumption must be reported to management with the reason and corrective action.
- 7. Order & Dispatch CoordinationTrack every production order from release to completion.
- Ensure finished material matches the customer/job order.
- Verify quantity and quality before packing.
- Coordinate with dispatch/logistics team.
- Ensure orders are ready according to committed dispatch dates.
- Immediately communicate delays that could affect customer delivery.
- 8. MaintenancePrepare preventive maintenance schedules for all machines.
- Maintain machine service and maintenance records.
- Ensure daily machine cleaning and basic operator maintenance.
- Coordinate with technicians/vendors during breakdowns.
- Maintain essential spare parts wherever required.
- Reduce unplanned machine downtime.
- 9. Safety & HousekeepingEnsure workers follow machine safety procedures.
- Ensure use of required PPE.
- Maintain proper factory housekeeping.
- Keep machine areas and material storage areas organised.
- Ensure electrical and fire-safety practices are followed.
- Report unsafe practices immediately.
Daily Reporting to ManagementThe Plant Manager should submit a Daily Plant Report containing:
- Orders planned
- Orders completed
- Doors produced
- Sheets/panels produced
- Machine-wise production
- Machine downtime
- Manpower present/absent
- Raw material consumed
- Wastage generated
- Rejection/rework quantity
- Pending production
- Dispatch-ready orders
- Machine breakdowns
- Major quality issues
- Requirements/problems requiring management attention
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)Performance will primarily be evaluated on:
- Production Target Achievement: ≥95%
- On-Time Production Completion: ≥95%
- Machine Utilization: Continuous improvement
- Rejection/Rework: As low as practically achievable
- Material Wastage: Within company-defined standards
- Machine Downtime: Minimum
- Production Planning Accuracy

Candidate RequirementsEducation: Diploma / B.Tech / BE in Mechanical, Production, Industrial Engineering or relevant technical field preferred.
Experience: Preferably 5+ years in manufacturing, with experience supervising a production plant/team.
Candidates with experience in doors, plywood, laminates, furniture, modular furniture, woodworking, panel processing, interior products or similar manufacturing industries will be preferred.
