Accountant

Role Overview

Responsible for overseeing the company's end-to-end finance and accounting operations, ensuring accurate financial reporting, statutory compliance, effective receivables management, and a robust internal control environment.

• Key ResponsibilitiesEnd-to-End AccountingManage and oversee the complete accounting cycle, including recording of transactions, accounts payable/receivable, general ledger, bank reconciliations, journal entries, provisions, accruals and month-end closing.
• Ensure accuracy, completeness and timely maintenance of books of accounts.
• Finalisation of AccountsLead the monthly, quarterly and annual finalisation of accounts.
• Prepare and review financial statements, schedules, provisions, accruals and necessary year-end adjustments.
• Coordinate with statutory auditors and tax consultants during audits and finalisation.
• GST & TDS ComplianceOversee GST and TDS reconciliation between books of accounts, returns and relevant tax records.
• Identify and resolve discrepancies relating to input tax credit, TDS deductions, vendor/customer balances and tax filings.
• Ensure timely compliance with applicable statutory requirements.
• Billing, Debtors & CollectionsOversee the complete billing and invoicing process, ensuring invoices are raised accurately and on time.
• Monitor customer outstanding balances and conduct regular debtor ageing analysis.
• Drive payment collection and follow up with customers for overdue receivables.
• Resolve billing disputes, payment discrepancies and reconciliation issues with customers.
• Monitor working capital and cash-flow requirements arising from receivables.
• Internal Controls & Internal AuditDesign, establish and implement internal controls across accounting, procurement, billing, payments, collections and other financial processes.
• Conduct periodic internal audits and control reviews to assess the effectiveness and efficiency of existing controls.
• Identify control gaps, process weaknesses and potential financial risks and recommend corrective actions.
• Monitor implementation of audit observations and ensure timely closure of identified control deficiencies.
• Establish appropriate segregation of duties, approval mechanisms, documentation and reconciliation procedures to minimise the risk of errors, fraud and financial leakage.
• MIS & Management ReportingPrepare and present regular MIS and management reports covering revenue, receivables, collections, expenses, cash flow and financial performance.
• Provide management with financial insights and analysis to support business and operational decision-making.
• Develop dashboards/reports to monitor key financial and operational KPIs.
