A Day in the Life

Energy Based Devices (EBD) is part of Medtronic’s Surgical portfolio and includes vessel sealing, electrosurgery and tissue ablation technologies used across a wide range of surgical and therapeutic procedures. The portfolio supports clinicians with advanced energy solutions designed to improve procedural efficiency and patient outcomes across operating room environments.

This field-based sales role is responsible for driving adoption and utilization of the EBD portfolio across assigned accounts in parts of Kolkata and nearby cities. The position requires regular presence in operating theatres, hospital engagement, customer education and territory development activities. Frequent travel within the assigned territory is expected.

Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned:

• Achieve territory sales objectives by driving product utilization and generating demand across assigned hospital accounts.
• Develop and execute account plans for key customers, with specific focus on high-potential accounts within the territory.
• Maintain regular operating theatre presence to support clinical cases, product usage and customer training activities.
• Conduct daily customer interactions with surgeons, operating theatre personnel and other healthcare stakeholders to identify opportunities and expand adoption.
• Lead product demonstrations, evaluations and clinical support activities to facilitate conversion and sustained utilization.
• Build and maintain relationships with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs), academic institutions and relevant clinical stakeholders.
• Organize approved customer education initiatives, Continuing Medical Education (CME) programmes and territory-specific marketing activities in collaboration with commercial leadership.
• Monitor market dynamics, competitive activity and procedural trends, and provide accurate and timely reporting on sales performance and business opportunities.

Required Knowledge and Experience: 

• High School Diploma (or equivalent) AND 4+ years experience*

• OR Associate’s Degree AND 2+ years experience*

• OR Bachelor’s Degree

Preferred:

• Experience selling electrosurgery, vessel sealing, surgical energy, capital equipment or other surgical device portfolios.
• Experience engaging and managing relationships with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) and clinical decision-makers.
• Knowledge of surgical procedures and operating theatre workflows across multiple specialties.
• Experience conducting product evaluations, clinical demonstrations and customer training programmes.
• Strong presentation, communication and stakeholder management skills.
