Job SummaryWe are looking for a hands-on Accountant who can independently manage day-to-day accounting activities and maintain accurate financial records. The candidate should have strong practical knowledge of Tally, GST, and general accounting processes, with the ability to coordinate with vendors, customers, banks, and internal departments.
- Key ResponsibilitiesAccounting & TallyHandle day-to-day accounting entries in Tally.
- Maintain purchase, sales, receipt, payment, journal, and contra entries.
- Maintain accounts payable and accounts receivable.
- Prepare and maintain vendor and customer ledgers.
- Perform regular bank and ledger reconciliation.
- Maintain proper documentation and filing of accounting records.
- Monitor outstanding payments and receivables.
- Assist in month-end and year-end closing activities.
- Prepare basic MIS and accounting reports for management.
- Ensure all accounting transactions are recorded accurately and on time.
- GST & TaxationStrong practical knowledge of GST and GST-related accounting.
- Prepare and verify GST data for GSTR-1, GSTR-3B and other applicable returns.
- Reconcile purchase data with GSTR-2B.
- Verify GST input credit and identify discrepancies.
- Check GST applicability, HSN/SAC codes, tax rates, and invoices.
- Coordinate with the CA/tax consultant for GST and taxation matters.
- Maintain proper records for GST audits and assessments.
- Basic knowledge of TDS and other statutory compliance will be preferred.
- Banking & ReconciliationHandle day-to-day banking transactions and entries.
- Prepare bank reconciliation statements (BRS).
- Track cheque/NEFT/RTGS/UPI transactions.
- Monitor bank charges and other financial transactions.
- Coordinate with banks whenever required.
- Vendor & Purchase AccountingVerify purchase invoices and supporting documents.
- Ensure correct accounting and GST treatment of purchase invoices.
- Maintain vendor balances and outstanding reports.
- Coordinate with the Purchase and Stores teams for invoice verification.
- Follow up with vendors regarding outstanding documents, credit notes, and account discrepancies.
- Sales & Customer AccountingVerify sales invoices and related documentation.
- Maintain customer ledgers and outstanding reports.
- Track dealer/customer payments.
- Reconcile customer accounts and resolve discrepancies.
- Coordinate with the Sales team regarding collections and account-related issues.
- Required SkillsStrong hands-on experience in Tally/Tally Prime is mandatory.
- Good understanding of complete accounting processes.
- Strong practical knowledge of GST.
- Knowledge of TDS and statutory compliance.
- Good Excel skills.
- Strong knowledge of ledger reconciliation and BRS.
- Good understanding of debit/credit and accounting principles.
- Ability to independently handle routine accounting activities.
- Good attention to detail and accuracy.
- Good communication and coordination skills.
- Ability to work in a manufacturing environment.
Preferred CandidateThe ideal candidate should be a practical, hands-on accountant rather than only a theoretical accounting professional. He should be comfortable sitting on Tally, checking invoices, reconciling accounts, handling GST-related work, and resolving day-to-day accounting issues independently.
Qualification: B.Com / M.Com / equivalent qualification preferred.
Experience: 2–5 years of relevant accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing, automobile, EV, or trading company.
- Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)Accuracy and timely completion of accounting entries.
- Timely bank and ledger reconciliation.
- GST compliance and reconciliation accuracy.
- Reduction of outstanding accounting discrepancies.
- Timely preparation of receivable/payable reports.
- Proper maintenance of accounting documentation.
- Timely submission of required reports to management and consultants.
