Design Engineer

We are seeking a Design Engineer to support the design, development, and improvement of components, products, fixtures, and manufacturing processes. The role will work closely with Production, Manufacturing Engineering, Quality, Procurement, and Maintenance teams to ensure designs are practical, cost-effective, manufacturable, and meet required quality standards.

• Key ResponsibilitiesDesign and develop mechanical components, assemblies, fixtures, jigs, tools, and production equipment.
• Prepare detailed 2D drawings, 3D models, BOMs, and engineering specifications.
• Create and modify designs using CAD software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Creo, CATIA, or similar.
• Ensure designs meet manufacturing, quality, safety, and customer requirements.
• Apply GD&T, dimensional tolerances, fits, and material specifications appropriately.
• Review existing designs and identify opportunities for cost reduction, quality improvement, and process optimization.
• Develop designs with Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) principles.
• Work with production teams to resolve manufacturing and assembly issues related to product design.
• Support prototype development, trials, testing, and validation of new or modified designs.
• Prepare and maintain engineering drawings, BOMs, specifications, and revision-controlled documents.
• Coordinate with suppliers for tooling, fabricated components, machined parts, and other engineering requirements.
• Conduct root-cause analysis for design-related production and quality problems and implement corrective actions.
• Support ECN/ECR, engineering change management, and product revisions.
• Participate in design reviews and cross-functional improvement projects.
• Ensure compliance with applicable engineering standards, company procedures, and safety requirements.
• Maintain accurate engineering records and documentation.
• Required QualificationsDiploma or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Production Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.
• 2–5 years of experience in mechanical/product design within a manufacturing environment.
• Strong knowledge of engineering drawings, GD&T, tolerances, fits, materials, and manufacturing processes.
• Hands-on experience with CAD software.
• Knowledge of machining, fabrication, sheet metal, welding, casting, forging, injection molding, or other relevant manufacturing processes.
• Understanding of manufacturing and assembly processes.
• Good problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Ability to work effectively with Production, Quality, Maintenance, and Procurement teams.
