Senior Integration/Backend Engineer (E Commerce)

• • Analyze business, IT, and non-functional requirements and translate them into backend and integration specifications
  • Design and implement backend services, APIs, and integration components
  • Build and evolve the BFF / SAP façade between frontend and backend systems
  • Integrate and orchestrate data flows across SAP Commerce, ePIM, ERP, CMS, and other enterprise platforms
  • Define and implement robust API contracts, clean data mappings, and reliable error handling within assigned scope
  • Analyze and resolve complex technical issues across system boundaries
  • Support backlog refinement by translating business requirements into clear backend implementation tasks
  • Promote maintainable code, sound engineering practices, and high technical quality through example, reviews, and guidance
  • Support other engineers in solving difficult technical problems and making consistent implementation choices
  • Write and maintain unit and integration tests
  • Collaborate closely with Solution Architects, Frontend engineers, Platform / DevOps engineers, QA, the Product Owner, and implementation partners
  • Contribute to technical documentation, interface documentation, and operational handover materials
  • Define and support end-to-end testing strategies across unit, functional, and integration testing, and support business-led UAT readiness and defect resolution
  • Document technical designs, architectural decisions, and system changes, and support release governance and readiness processes before production rollout
  • Collaborate with vendors and external service providers, validate changes, and monitor performance against agreed technical KPIs
  • Provide 2nd and 3rd level support for backend and integration topics in line with ITIL-based support processes
  • Ensure backend and integration solutions meet performance, scalability, reliability, and security requirements

Your Qualifications

Your Qualifications

• • Graduate degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics & Modeling, or a comparable field
  • 8–10 years of professional experience in backend engineering and system integration
  • Proven experience in complex IT environments with a focus on backend engineering, enterprise integration, and API development
  • Solid hands-on experience with Java / Spring or comparable enterprise backend technologies
  • Strong understanding of REST APIs, JSON/XML, service orchestration, and error handling
  • Experience integrating enterprise platforms such as eCommerce, PIM, ERP, CMS, or similar systems
  • Ability to provide technical guidance and help less experienced engineers grow through day-to-day collaboration
  • Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Experience with SAP Commerce Cloud and BFF / aggregation layer patterns is a strong advantage
  • Excellent communication skills in English and a consultative mindset
  • Ability to work independently in complex environments and collaborate effectively in cross-functional, global teams
