What would you do? The RTR Service Delivery Lead is a senior finance professional responsible for overseeing the end-to-end Record to Report process within a Manufacturing / Retail environment. This role drives operational excellence, ensures financial integrity, and leads a team of RTR specialists to deliver accurate, timely, and compliant financial reporting. The Lead serves as the primary point of contact between the finance shared services team, business stakeholders, and external auditors.
What are we looking for? Educational Qualification ? Bachelor s degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or related discipline (mandatory). ? Professional certification preferred: CA / CPA / CMA / ACCA / CIMA. Experience ? 8–12 years of progressive experience in RTR / General Accounting, with at least 3 years in a team lead or supervisory capacity. ? Prior experience in Manufacturing, FMCG, or Retail industry finance operations is strongly preferred. ? Exposure to multi-entity / multi-currency environments and financial consolidation. ? Hands-on experience with at least one major ERP: SAP (preferred), Oracle, or Microsoft D365. ? Experience working in or transitioning to a Global Shared Services / GBS / BPO environment is advantageous. Technical Skills ? Deep knowledge of IFRS / US GAAP and financial close processes. ? Proficiency in ERP systems (SAP FI/CO module preferred) and financial reporting tools (Hyperion, BPC, BlackLine). ? Advanced Excel skills; familiarity with Power BI or similar data visualization tools is a plus. ? Understanding of manufacturing costing (standard costing, variance analysis) and retail-specific accounting. ? Knowledge of SOX compliance, internal controls, and audit requirements. Behavioural Competencies 6. Internal Controls & Risk Management ? Maintain a robust internal control framework (SOX / ICFR) over the RTR process and ensure timely remediation of control deficiencies. ? Conduct periodic control self-assessments and coordinate with Internal Audit on RTR-related testing. ? Identify and escalate financial reporting risks; implement mitigating controls and process changes. ? Ensure segregation of duties is maintained across the RTR team and system access is reviewed periodically. 7. Process Improvement & Transformation ? Drive continuous improvement initiatives to streamline the close cycle, reduce manual effort, and increase automation. ? Lead or support ERP enhancement projects (SAP S/4HANA, Oracle, D365) impacting the RTR process. ? Champion RPA/automation opportunities in journal entry processing, reconciliations, and reporting. ? Participate in finance transformation programs, including shared services transitions and global process standardisation. 8. SLA, KPI & Performance Management ? Define, monitor, and report on RTR SLAs and KPIs including close cycle time, reconciliation completion rates, and error rates. ? Roles and Responsibilities: 1. RTR Process Ownership & Governance? Own the end-to-end RTR process including General Ledger (GL) accounting, journal entry management, account reconciliations, period-end close, and financial consolidation.? Establish and enforce RTR process standards, SOPs, and controls across manufacturing plants and retail units.? Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards (IFRS / US GAAP) and local statutory requirements.? Drive a zero-defect close cycle by proactively identifying risks and resolving issues before deadlines.2. Month-End, Quarter-End & Year-End Close Management? Lead and coordinate the financial close calendar across all entities, ensuring adherence to timelines.? Review and approve complex journal entries including accruals, provisions, prepayments, intercompany, and cost allocations.? Oversee inventory accounting, cost of goods sold (COGS) postings, and fixed asset accounting specific to manufacturing/retail operations.? Ensure timely preparation and review of balance sheet reconciliations with clear action plans for open items.? Manage intercompany reconciliations and eliminate mismatches before consolidation.3. Financial Reporting & Consolidation? Oversee preparation of financial statements, management reports, and variance analysis (actuals vs. budget vs. forecast).? Support consolidation of multi-entity financials, including currency translation, elimination entries, and group reporting.? Liaise with FP&A, Tax, and Treasury teams to provide accurate data inputs for budgeting and forecasting cycles.? Prepare and present close dashboards and KPI reports to senior finance leadership.4. Team Leadership & Service Delivery Management? Lead, mentor, and develop a team of RTR Analysts and Senior Accountants, typically 5–15 direct/indirect reports.? Allocate workload, set performance objectives, conduct reviews, and build a high-performance team culture.? Act as an escalation point for team members on complex accounting, system, or stakeholder issues.? Monitor team productivity, SLA adherence, and quality metrics, implementing corrective action plans as required.? Drive talent development initiatives including cross-skilling, succession planning, and training programs.
