Responsibilities & Key Deliverables

ESG Reporting, Disclosures & Governance
•    Lead annual ESG reporting and disclosure processes for Mahindra Agri Business.
•    Manage reporting requirements under BRSR, BRSR Core, CDP, DJSI/S&P CSA, GRI, TCFD, and other applicable frameworks.
•    Establish robust ESG data management systems, governance mechanisms, and assurance processes.
•    Coordinate with business functions for data collection, validation, consolidation, and reporting.
•    Develop ESG dashboards, MIS reports, and leadership updates for tracking sustainability performance and commitments.
•    Support internal and external ESG assessments, ratings, audits, and stakeholder engagements.
MEAL Sustainability & ESG Requirements
•    Lead sustainability initiatives and ESG compliance requirements for Mahindra East Africa Limited (MEAL) operations.
•    Develop sustainability performance monitoring frameworks aligned with local regulations, investor requirements, and Mahindra Group standards.
•    Coordinate sustainability reporting, ESG disclosures, and environmental performance tracking for MEAL businesses.
•    Identify opportunities for decarbonization, resource efficiency, climate resilience, and sustainable agriculture practices across MEAL operations.
Carbon Strategy & Offset Programs
•    Support development and implementation of carbon management strategy across Agri businesses.
•    Identify, evaluate, and develop carbon offset and carbon removal opportunities through regenerative agriculture, agroforestry, soil carbon, biochar, renewable energy, and nature-based solutions.
•    Drive carbon footprint assessments and GHG inventory management across Scope 1, Scope 2, and relevant Scope 3 emissions.
•    Collaborate with business units and external partners to establish credible carbon projects and generate environmental value.
•    Monitor evolving carbon market regulations, methodologies, standards, and opportunities.
External Partnerships & Stakeholder Engagement
•    Build and manage strategic partnerships with government agencies, industry bodies, NGOs, multilaterals, academic institutions, startups, and sustainability organizations.
•    Identify collaboration opportunities for sustainability innovation, climate action, regenerative agriculture, circular economy, and biodiversity initiatives.
•    Represent Mahindra Agri Business in relevant sustainability forums, working groups, industry platforms, and sectoral initiatives.
•    Facilitate partnerships for grant funding, technical collaborations, pilot projects, and sustainability capacity building.
•    Support sustainability-related advocacy and thought leadership initiatives
Cross-Functional Collaboration
•    Collaborate with Operations, Supply Chain, Procurement, Finance, Strategy, HR, R&D, and International Business teams to drive sustainability objectives.
•    Ensure sustainability considerations are embedded within business processes, investment decisions, and operational practices.
•    Support leadership in sustainability reviews, governance forums, and strategic decision-making.

FMCG, Sustainability Consulting, Manufacturing

Qualifications

B.Tech / M.Tech (Environmental, Chemical, Energy, Sustainability, Mechanical) / Master's in Environmental Science, Sustainability.

 MBA (Sustainability/Strategy preferred)

General Requirements

ESG & Sustainability Expertise

• Strong understanding of ESG frameworks including BRSR, CDP, GRI, TCFD, ISSB, and ESG rating methodologies.

Sustainability Strategy

• Experience in developing and implementing sustainability roadmaps, targets, and transformation programs

Carbon Management

• Experience in GHG accounting, carbon markets, climate strategy, and carbon offset project development.

Reporting & Analytics

• Strong capabilities in sustainability reporting, data management, KPI tracking, and ESG performance analytics.

Stakeholder Management

• Ability to engage effectively with business leaders, investors, customers, NGOs, government agencies, and international organizations.

Project Management

• Strong execution capabilities with experience managing cross-functional sustainability projects.

Communication & Leadership

Excellent presentation, stakeholder engagement, and influencing skills with the ability to drive organization-wide sustainability initiatives.
