Job Title:Manager – Fund Accounting  (RtR)

Job purpose

The Fund Accounting Manager will lead end-to-end fund accounting and financial reporting activities for Nordic / European real estate clients. The role involves managing complex fund structures, ensuring compliance with IFRS/local GAAP, and driving operational excellence using ERP platforms such as Yardi. The individual will also act as a key stakeholder interface for onshore teams and clients.

 

Responsibilities

Fund Accounting & Financial Reporting : Oversee end-to-end fund accounting processes including:

    • General ledger accounting, journals, and accruals
    • NAV preparation and validation
    • Financial statement preparation (IFRS/local GAAP)
    •  Review trial balances, balance sheet reconciliations, and supporting schedules
    •  Manage periodic closing activities (monthly/quarterly/yearly)

 

Real Estate Fund Management :

    • Handle accounting for real estate entities including SPVs, holding companies, and funds
    • Review property-level accounting, lease accounting, and asset-level reporting
    • Manage capital transactions such as:
      • Capital calls and distributions
      • Investor allocations
      • Intercompany transactions and loan accounting

 

ERP & Systems  :

    • Drive accounting operations using Yardi ERP (GL, investment management, reporting modules)
    • Ensure data integrity, automation utilization, and process standardization within Yardi
    • Support system enhancements and process improvements

 

Client & Stakeholder Management :

    • Act as primary point of contact for Nordic clients and onshore stakeholders
    • Manage communication across multiple geographies and time zones
    • Provide insights on fund performance, variances, and key financial metrics

 

Compliance & Controls : Ensure adherence to:

    • IFRS / Local regulatory requirements (Nordic jurisdictions)
    • Internal controls, audit standards, and governance frameworks
    • Liaise with auditors and support year-end audits
    • Drive process documentation and SOP compliance

 

Team Leadership & Delivery Management

    • Lead and mentor a team of accountants and senior analysts
    • Drive performance management, training, and capability development
    • Ensure adherence to SLAs, KPIs, and quality benchmarks
    • Identify opportunities for automation and continuous improvement

 

Data Analytics & Reporting

    • Leverage MS Excel (advanced) for data analysis and reconciliations
    • Use Power BI for: Dashboard creation, Fund performance tracking, KPI reporting and analytics
 

Qualifications & Experience

Qualified Chartered Accountant (CA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA)

 

Experience: 

    • 15+ years in fund accounting, with strong exposure to real estate funds
    • Hands-on experience in Yardi ERP platform

 

Strong understanding of: 

    • Fund structures (PE / Real Estate funds)
    • NAV calculations and financial reporting
    • IFRS and/or European regulatory frameworks

Technical Skills

    • Yardi ERP (mandatory)
    • Advanced MS Excel and Power BI / data visualization tools
