Introduction

This role will be within the Infrastructure Solutions Delivery (ISD) organization at GlobalFoundries IT. The ISD organization's primary focus is on building, developing, and delivering infrastructure that effectively addresses business requirements and opportunities, while ensuring a robust, sustainable, and standardized platform for Operations to manage. 

Your Job: 

As a Senior Lead – Business Continuity Architect within the Infrastructure Solutions Delivery (ISD) organization, you will be responsible for defining, governing, and advancing GlobalFoundries’ IT Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery (BC/DR) strategy. This role ensures critical business services and technology platforms are resilient, recoverable, and aligned with corporate risk management objectives. You will partner with infrastructure, application, cybersecurity, operations, and business stakeholders to design and maintain continuity capabilities that minimize operational disruption and support rapid recovery from adverse events.

  • Define and maintain enterprise-wide IT Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery architecture, standards, and governance.

  • Ensure critical business services and technology platforms meet recovery objectives, regulatory requirements, and risk management expectations.

  • Drive resilience-by-design principles across infrastructure, cloud, network, storage, compute, and application environments.

  • Lead business impact analysis (BIA), recovery strategy development, and continuity planning activities across the organization.

  • Establish and validate recovery capabilities through testing, exercising, and continuous improvement programs.

  • Collaborate with technology and business leaders to reduce operational risk and improve organizational resilience against outages, cyber incidents, and disaster scenarios.

Key Responsibilities 

  • BC/DR Strategy Development: Develop and maintain the enterprise IT Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery strategy, roadmap, standards, and reference architectures aligned with business and regulatory requirements.

  • Business Impact Analysis (BIA): Lead BIA initiatives to identify critical business functions, technology dependencies, recovery priorities, and recovery objectives (RTO/RPO).

  • Recovery Architecture: Design resilient infrastructure and recovery solutions across datacenter, cloud, network, storage, virtualization, and application environments to meet defined recovery targets.

  • Continuity Planning: Establish and maintain Disaster Recovery Plans (DRPs), Technology Recovery Plans (TRPs), and supporting continuity documentation for critical services.

  • Testing & Exercise Management: Plan, coordinate, and execute disaster recovery tests, tabletop exercises, cyber recovery simulations, and failover/failback validation activities.

  • Risk Assessment & Mitigation: Identify continuity risks, single points of failure, recovery gaps, and operational vulnerabilities, and drive remediation plans with technology teams.

  • Governance & Compliance: Ensure continuity programs comply with corporate policies, audit requirements, industry frameworks, and relevant regulatory standards.

  • Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with business leaders, infrastructure teams, application owners, and executive management to align continuity planning with organizational priorities.

  • Continuous Improvement: Drive ongoing enhancements to continuity processes, recovery automation, testing methodologies, and operational readiness based on lessons learned and evolving business requirements.

Required Qualifications 

  • A bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field, or equivalent work experience of 10+ years of experience.

  • Strong knowledge of networking concepts and protocols. 

  • Familiarity with VMware. 

  • Familiarity with enterprise storage systems and technologies (NetApp)

  • Problem-Solving: Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues. 

  • Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey technical information clearly and effectively.
