Accountant

Job Title: Site Accountant – Petty Cash, Chest Cash & Site Accounts

Job Summary Manage chest cash, petty cash records, and day-to-day site accounting. Site-level expenses are paid digitally (UPI/QR scanner) by the Site POC, not disbursed by the accountant — the accountant's role is to verify, record, and reconcile these along with cash custody and reporting.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain and safeguard site chest cash (locked storage, dual custody where applicable); conduct periodic physical cash counts and reconcile with books
• Verify and record all scanner/UPI payments made by the Site POC against bills, work orders, and material receipts
• Maintain daily cash and expense registers/ledgers with proper vouchers for every transaction
• Process labour wages, contractor and vendor payments as authorized
• Assist with GST documentation (invoices, e-way bills) and TDS on contractor/vendor payments
• Prepare weekly/monthly site expense and cash reports in company format
• Coordinate with Head Office accounts for fund requests, reimbursements, and month-end closing
• Support bank reconciliation for site-linked accounts
• Flag discrepancies, unauthorized payments, or cash shortages immediately

Qualifications

• B.Com/M.Com or equivalent
• 2–5 years site/project accounting experience, construction sector preferred
• Working knowledge of Tally/ERP, Excel, GST/TDS basics
• Prior chest cash handling experience preferred

Key Skills

• High integrity in cash handling; strong record-keeping
• Able to work independently at site; comfortable with travel between sites
• Good coordination with site POC and Head Office
