As a Data Engineer, you will be working on building and maintaining complex data pipelines, assemble large and complex datasets to generate business insights and to enable data driven decision making and support the rapidly growing and dynamic business demand for data.
Data Engineers help us design, manage, and continuously enhance our Analytics needs. You will develop and deliver analytics applications including metrics generation, metrics correlation, modeling, and many other use cases to help improve process effectiveness, customer experience, and automation. As a DE, you will deal with technical aspects of data warehousing (Redshift, Spectrum, EMR, ETL), infrastructure and build data pipelines, tools, and reports that enable program managers, analysts, BIE’s, solution architects, and executives to design and deliver bench marking services for Amazon’s business units. Key job responsibilities
• Lead and design complex data architectures, ensuring scalability, security, and alignment with business objectives
• Drive implementation of large-scale data pipelines and ETL processes using AWS technologies
• Identify and resolve system-wide data challenges, including performance bottlenecks and architectural deficiencies
• Establish data engineering best practices, including governance, security standards, and operational excellence
• Mentor team members and provide technical leadership across multiple projects
• Make strategic build-vs-buy decisions and drive consensus on technical solutions
• Ensure data solutions are auditable, accessible, and maintainable across the organization
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver innovative data solutions

AWS Finance Technology (Fintech) is the single-threaded owner of AWS financial data and technology solutions. We build and operate the services that power management and financial reporting for one of the world's largest and fastest-growing cloud businesses. Our mission is to create comprehensive, next-generation finance data services that automate repetitive data operations, freeing finance and business users to focus on what matters most: telling a story with data and driving informed business decisions at scale. Our product portfolio standardizes finance operations across AWS teams at the product, region, and customer levels.

Basic Qualifications

- 4+ years of data engineering experience
- Experience with data modeling, warehousing and building ETL pipelines
- Experience with SQL
- Experience working cross functionally with tech teams
- Experience with end-to-end ownership of major project deliverables
- Experience developing end to end business intelligence solutions, including: data warehousing (e.g. Redshift) and business intelligence tools (e.g. Quicksuite)

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience with AWS technologies like Redshift, S3, AWS Glue, EMR, Kinesis, FireHose, Lambda, and IAM roles and permissions
- Experience with non-relational databases / data stores (object storage, document or key-value stores, graph databases, column-family databases)
