Job SummaryBoma Asian Bakery is looking for a skilled and passionate Korean & Japanese Cuisine Chef to prepare authentic Korean and Japanese food for dine-in, takeaway, and online delivery. The ideal candidate should have experience in preparing a variety of hot and cold dishes, maintain consistency in taste and presentation, and follow high standards of food safety and kitchen hygiene.

• Key ResponsibilitiesPrepare authentic Korean and Japanese dishes according to standardized recipes and SOPs.
• Cook menu items such as bibimbap, kimbap, ramen, udon, donburi, teriyaki, karaage, fried rice, sushi rice, gyoza, and other Korean and Japanese specialties.
• Prepare sauces, marinades, broths, pickles, and side dishes from scratch.
• Ensure consistency in taste, texture, portion size, and presentation for every dish.
• Prepare daily mise en place and maintain readiness for service.
• Coordinate with the kitchen team to ensure timely preparation of dine-in and online orders.
• Monitor ingredient freshness, stock levels, and report shortages to the kitchen supervisor.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the workstation and kitchen equipment.
• Follow food safety, hygiene, storage, and sanitation standards at all times.
• Assist in developing new Korean and Japanese menu items and seasonal specials.
• Required Skills & QualificationsMinimum 2–4 years of experience in Korean and/or Japanese cuisine.
• Strong knowledge of Korean and Japanese cooking techniques, ingredients, and flavors.
• Experience with rice preparation, broths, noodles, grilling, frying, and sauce preparation.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced restaurant kitchen.
• Good knife skills and knowledge of food preparation techniques.
• Ability to follow recipes and maintain consistency during high-volume service.
• Strong teamwork, communication, and time-management skills.
• Preferred QualificationsCulinary diploma or professional kitchen training is preferred.
• Experience working in Korean restaurants, Japanese restaurants, cafés, or Asian kitchens is an advantage.
• Knowledge of food costing, portion control, and inventory management is a plus.
• Working ConditionsFast-paced commercial kitchen environment.
• Requires standing for long hours and handling hot cooking equipment.
• Evening, weekend, and public holiday shifts may be required.
