Job Description – Food Production Supervisor

Job Summary We are looking for an experienced and responsible Food Production Supervisor to oversee day-to-day food production activities. The role will be responsible for ensuring that production is completed safely, efficiently, hygienically, and according to established quality standards and production schedules.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate daily food production activities and production staff.
• Plan and allocate manpower according to production requirements.
• Ensure production targets are achieved within the required time and quality standards.
• Monitor the preparation, processing, cooking, packing, and storage of food products.
• Maintain strict compliance with food safety, hygiene, and sanitation standards.
• Ensure employees follow SOPs, recipes, portion controls, and quality specifications.
• Monitor raw material availability, consumption, wastage, and storage conditions.
• Check the quality, taste, appearance, quantity, and consistency of finished products.
• Identify production issues and take corrective action promptly.
• Maintain production records, wastage reports, stock usage records, and other required documentation.
• Coordinate with the purchase, stores, quality, maintenance, and dispatch teams.
• Train, guide, and discipline production staff as required.
• Ensure proper cleaning and sanitation of production areas and equipment.
• Monitor equipment condition and report maintenance requirements.
• Implement measures to reduce food wastage and improve productivity.
• Ensure proper FIFO/FEFO practices and safe food storage.
• Conduct regular checks for temperature, hygiene, and product handling as applicable.
• Support audits and ensure compliance with applicable food safety and company requirements.
• Report daily production performance, shortages, wastage, quality issues, and operational concerns to management.

Required Qualifications & Experience

• Diploma/Degree in Food Technology, Food Science, Hotel Management, Production Management, or a related field preferred.
• 2–5 years of relevant experience in food production, commercial kitchens, food manufacturing, catering, cloud kitchens, restaurants, or a similar environment.
• Previous experience supervising a production team is preferred.
• Good understanding of food hygiene, sanitation, and food safety practices.
• Basic knowledge of inventory control, production planning, and wastage management.
• Good communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment and manage shifts when required.
