Job Description
Job Title: Quality Control (QC) Engineer
Department: Quality Assurance / Quality Control
Reports To: QA/QC Manager / Plant Head
Location: Saki Naka
Employment Type: Full-Time
Job Summery:
We are looking for a detail-oriented QC Engineer to ensure that all machined components meet dimensional, functional, and quality standards throughout the manufacturing process. The role involves inspection, measurement, documentation, and coordination with production and engineering teams to maintain consistent product quality and minimize rejections.
- Key ResponsibilitiesPerform in-process, first-off, and final inspection of machined components as per drawings, and quality standards
- Operate and calibrate measuring instruments such as Vernier calipers, micrometers, height gauges, bore gauges, dial indicators, CMM, and surface roughness testers
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, tolerances, and GD&T symbols accurately
- Prepare and maintain inspection reports, quality records, and Certificate of Conformance (CoC) / Certificate of Analysis (CoA)
- Identify non-conformances, raise NCRs (Non-Conformance Reports), and coordinate root cause analysis with production/engineering teams
- Monitor process parameters and support implementation of SPC (Statistical Process Control) where applicable
- Conduct incoming raw material inspection and verify supplier material certificates (e.g., 3.1 Mill Test Certificates)
- Support internal and customer audits (ISO 9001 )
- Maintain calibration schedules for all measuring and testing equipment
- Coordinate with vendors for outsourced processes (heat treatment, plating, anodizing, etc.) and verify compliance with specifications
- Assist in developing and updating inspection plans, control plans, and PPAP documentation
- Participate in root cause analysis and corrective/preventive action (CAPA) implementation for quality issues
- Ensure adherence to cleanliness, packaging, and handling specifications for finished components
- Train shop floor operators on basic quality checks and standard operating procedures (SOPs)
- Requirements Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or related field
- 0 to 1 years of experience in quality control within a machining/CNC manufacturing environment
- Strong knowledge of GD&T, engineering drawing interpretation, and measurement techniques
- Hands-on experience with precision measuring instruments and CMM operation (preferred)
- Familiarity with ISO 9001 quality systems and documentation
- Knowledge of machining processes (turning, milling, drilling, grinding) and common defects
- Understanding of material properties, heat treatment, and surface finishing processes (anodizing, plating, coating) is a plus
- Proficiency in MS Excel and quality reporting tools
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
- Preferred SkillsExperience with PPAP, APQP, FMEA, and control plans
- Knowledge of SPC and Six Sigma / root cause analysis tools (5-Why, Fishbone, 8D)
- Exposure to customer-specific quality requirements (automotive, aerospace, industrial, etc.)
